Sales Download File Question

Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions or advise on how to organise the sales sheet we are provided by Zazzle so we can analyse our sales? The date and currency columns are not very consistent in the data formatting and I am having trouble.

If you are talking about the problem of having non-numerical info in the Royalty column, (in my case it's CA$ and asterisks beside the number ) so there is no way to sum the column. I've tried everything I can think of to remove those extra figures but so far haven't been successful. Finding and replacing doesn't work for asterisks for one thing. Since this extra text only applies to pending items, I generally just sort everything except those items. It's more the older, historical data I'm interested in anyway, not things that haven't and might not ever be cleared. If anyone knows a way to remove that text  I'll be interested to hear too.

I haven't had any issues with the date column but that's probably because I haven't needed it for the sort  info I was interested in at the time. What is the exact problem you are having with the dates?

Yes, I have been having the same issue with the price. I have some solutions I can share later when I have access to the file if you want.

As for the date, some dates are formatted with a slash / and some by dots . so the format isn't the same and thus sales can't be filtered by their proper date.

First select the column you where you want to replace the values. Then press ctlr+f.

To replace CA$ find CA$ and replace with blank ie  leave the replace cell blank. Hit replace all.

To replace asterikcs you need to find ~** replace with blank ie leave the replace cell blank. Hit replace all.

I use the Earnings & Transaction History reports instead of the Royalty History reports to update my sales records.
No asterisks to worry about, and the data is more inclusive (includes Referrals and Volume Bonuses as well).

ETA: date formatting doesn't appear to be an issue for me with the E&TH reports, either.

A while back Zazzle asked us for feedback on the reports. They said they were going to re-vamp them to address some of these issues. I can't remember when that was - but since I can't find the thread, I'm guessing it was on the old forum. I also can't remember if it was before the pandemic or not. Either way, it's been a while and nothing has happened. It would be great if a mod could chime in and let us know the status of that project.
