Strange Cancellation

I've been working with this customer for a few months now, she just requested another product from me so I took the opportunity to ask why she recently cancelled a self referred order. This was her response: "I had the signs shipped to our house in south carolina for the wedding and I received a message that they were returned to sender due to invalid address. I confirmed the address was accurate and verified with USPS but they had already re routed them back to zazzle and could not deliver in time for the wedding. :/"

How does something like this happen? Very disappointing for everyone involved.

That's very disappointing! Unfortunately, I've read similar stories regarding USPS service. ☹️

I had a shipment I was waiting for (not from Zazzle) that was going through FedEx. Somewhere along the line, the label was damaged and they had to contact the company to get a new label. I wonder if the canceled shipment was caused by something similar.

I have completely lost faith in the USPS this year. Prior to that I never had problems. This year they can't seem to get anything right. I would guess the blame lies with the fact that the USPS is strapped for employees, and is having to hire people who just don't have much on the ball.

I also do Postcrossing!

The complaints about the carriers seem to vary by region. We've been lucky so far with both the post office and UPS, but FedEx is the pits. By the time we get our packages, they appear to have been used for playing football. Torn up, taped together, and worse. My son told one company he buys from that if they were going to ship his product via FedEx, he'd start buying elsewhere. They shipped to him using UPS, and all was well. I've heard from someone elsewhere in the country whose worst problems have been with UPS.

Yes, we used to have HORRIBLE problems with FedEx! they seem to have improved recently, though. Definitely the USPS is going downhill.

I live in one town and my post office box is in another. (No i don't have a mailbox in front of my house for security reasons.) Sometimes UPS and FEDEx have agreements that they bring it to the post office and then the post office delivers it to the house. They don't bring it to the post office with my box, they bring it to the one that house zip code is in. Then the post office can't (or won't) find me and it is returned because of an invalid address. QVC is the worst for this right now. I have almost stopped shopping there because of this.

Though I can't vouch for this, it's my understanding that FedEx has a setup with the USPS across the country, which has slowed down delivery, at least in my area. Also in my area, FedEx farms out their delivery to other companies that hire drivers they must be finding by scraping them up from the bottom of a pit.

DHL operates in my state (NY) but the places I buy from never use them. There must be a reason.

Interesting, I shall consider myself lucky to have "normal" service in my area - Thanks all 🌻
