Suggestion for product descriptions

I've started using Google AI to do product description, I even have AI write stories for the vintage art.  It really works well.  People might spend more time reading on my page.  BUT Zazzle product description do not allow paragraph indentions.  I would like better presentation for people wanting to do complete descriptions.

I worked as an editor and writer for many years. Indented paragraphs (and two spaces after a period) stopped being used with the advent of desktop publishing — where folks could duplicate proportional spacing and typesetting right on their desktops. So, indented paragraphs are not necessary. Don’t know if that helps your quest to indent paragraphs in product descriptions. Just providing an explanation on why that’s probably not an option.

Are you saying there is some way to create paragraph indentations ourselves? Are there some keys I need to be pressing to make paragraphs happen in Zazzle descriptions?

I ended up doing - in between paragraphs.

It would be terrific is Zazzle allowed us a little bit of formatting control in descriptions. Nothing that could break the layout, just the ability to use line breaks would be enough. The attention span on the internet has become absurdly low as it is; a "wall of text" almost guarantees no one is going to read it.  I see TL;DR (too long, didn't read) used so often it makes me sad, it's like noone can be bothered to read & digest more than a sentence or two even when formatted with breaks.

I think some of the reading problem on the internet has to do with staring at a (glaring) lighted screen as opposed to the much softer (comfortable) effect of staring at black letters on off-white paper. It's possible this has ended up with a spillover effect onto all reading.

Agreed 100%. I taught student publications for almost 20 years. The wall of text is not going to be read by many, especially when it comes after so many pieces of info, sadly. 😞

When I started here in 2014, the description was directly to the right of Zazzle's product description beneath the image, but over time and as Z added more and more to the screen, the description was pushed downward. At this point, I seriously doubt the customer ever reads it. I wish Z would go back to a simpler page that has breathing space because it now looks like Victorian decor where every space is filled with knickknacks and doilies.

I have to laugh: I was getting ready to tell you that I skip a line between paragraphs in my descriptions. Then I went to look at some listings, and they're all crunched together on the customer end. lol

Guess I can stop doing that now.

I love breaking up the description, especially because I often write longer ones. More than the formatting of the description, though, I wish it weren't way at the bottom of the screen. I spend a lot of time on them and feel like they help the customer a lot. I wonder how many people even see them way down there.

EDIT: Came back to say I wish they would suggest other people's products after our descriptions. I feel like it would be a nice order to have our description and then under that the generic Zazzle info about the product/materials, etc. I am truly curious how many people read them by the time they make it down that far.

Keep at it, though. It will help regardless with search both inside and outside of Zazzle!
