Time for a Spring Clean - Deleting Is Cathartic!

After a few months of the 'lowest price filter' not returning the 'lowest prices' I have decided to remove a few thousand items which have no hope of ever being seen again, give they won't appear in filter search and are unlikely to appear in niche searches due to editors picks and I am never gonna be able to add covers or re-promote them myself - due to the sheer volume. So rather than have these hanging around clogging up my stores and perhaps lowering zrank, I have decided to cut my losses and lose that excess baggage!

It's kinda cathartic! delete delete delete!  Perfect timing for a spring clean.

Everyone  might want to read this post pertaining to deleting products—-

Deleting could possibly alter your rank, depending on how you go about it—the volume of deletes and the speed/how quickly you delete varying numbers of products. It’s iffy.

I am very familiar with doing what I need to tweak my rank. I am not concerned, but thanks for the info.

Even tho you are experienced with deleting and rank, there are many  others who may be reading this thread who are newbies. My post was basically directed to help and possibly guide them.

I agree! I hadn't thought it might spur a spree!

Spring cleaning is a good idea but idraw is right. You have to pace yourself. People reported (old forum so can't link) that they lost a point from mass deletion. It seems counter-intuitive but it happened to people. Zrank seems to react to big changes negatively, whatever they are. Doing it in sets of 100/day is likely the safer option than a few thousand in one fell swoop.

I'm honestly not worried. Not for the stores I have done it with. I have a regular clean out. BUT yes for others, proceed with caution. This is by no means a post to encourage anyone else to do anything. ... though reading it back it can seem that way!

NO ONE do anything!
