Thank you for the warning. I got one too, and I used the block and report feature to report it.

I got at least 5 of these this week? They ask you to contact them via Instagram or Whasup  It’s clear that they are not buyers. This is concerning to me. I block them, and new ones keep coming. What security measures does Z have?

Just curious...what security measures are you thinking of?  IG in particular is notorious for people DM'ing you the second you post something.   I honestly don't know what Zazzle could do different and still allow legit customers to get to us.

I don't know, but I guess their AI is still in the process of learning to identify these messages. It's just a matter of time. Let's be patient.

Yes, I got one late last night from someone wanting to 'order in bulk' and asked for my What's App details (claiming they couldn't contact me via any other method).

The things that alerted me to the fact that it wasn't a genuine enquiry (because it wasn't my first):

(1) they usually have a very unusual name which is either misspelt or an obvious attempt at trying to sound like an anglo-sounding name from a non-native English speaker....or someone that just doesn't sound right (for instance my message was from someone called 'Jone').

(2) wanting to order in bulk; Hello, Zazzle always give you the option to order in multiples. It's right there on the product page itself and if they were serious buyers they would have already seen this.

(3) demanding to contact you via a method that will harvest your phone number and other personal details.

I believe these are just thinly-disguised phishing attempts to get your personal details. I just ignore them, block and report.

I have a friend named Jonah. They go by Jone. Why? Because it's their name and they like it.

I would strongly suggest that you not treat people differently based on their name or English-speaking skills. Not everyone has the benefit of being fluent in English. There are tons of people out there who grew up speaking other languages, and employ apps like Grammarly so that they can interact with others. Ultimately, we hope that you and the rest of our Creator community will keep in mind that we're here to connect you/your artwork with people around the world, and so it's probably best to hear people out and determine if the customer's goals and intentions are a match with your artwork, services, and expertise. Let that guide your decision-making.

Personally, I'd just cut ties with any customer who is looking to speak on Instagram (or any other platform). Keeping conversation happening in Zazzle Chat allows us (Zazzle) a better opportunity to see the full conversation, and we can examine another user's account for certain behavioral patterns.

Yes, I agree with what you and Scott said. However, I think it's worth adding that these guys are amateurs. A more experienced scammer will know how to choose a name that is convincing, sound like a native speaker, etc. Generally, the huge red flag is this: at some moment they will request you to talk outside the Zazzle platform.

It might be best practices for Zazzle to issue some sort of post to all designers, something like. "Please be vigilant, we know you want to make money but if a customer contacts you via Zazzle and refuses to do business through the chat (or your own email for those that do referrals) and demands you talk to them through Whatsapp, telegram, Instagram or other social media; chances are they might not be honest customers."

Simply because not all designers use the forum.

+100 to this idea. I don't know how many active creators there are, but I bet not even five percent of creators ever check in here. Probably not even one percent.

I have always seen  these as a scam from the start...it's not just the grammar etc, its the intent of it.. collarborating outside of Zazz framework is such a red flag...
