What keeps someone from screenshotting my template?

I was looking to sell on zazzle but I saw there is no watermarks on the previews. What keeps someone from just screenshotting the preview and using it?

Nothing, same as with everything online.

Templett and corji all have water marks.

You can add watermarks with Zazzle too.

Yes, it's under store < settings < advanced settings. Zazzle recommends against it because their data apparently indicates that turning it on results in fewer sales.

My opinion is that watermarking is not worth it. Will things get stolen? Yes (and it's both frustrating and infuriating.) Will that theft result in fewer sales for you? Questionable.

Even if you have watermark on preview, nothing would prevent a user take a screenshot from designing area.  Or use software to remove the watermark. The one who wants to steal, will find the way. Sad truth.

Correct but making it diffcult or even worth it to do all that. Tbh if it was me yes I can remove water marks and use photoshop but is it worth it? I would just buy it tbh. But zazzle just makes it so easy to screenshot it in design mode.

In this world of digital devices and digital imaging.... there is no completely safe haven from a thief. Period. If you value your work and feel there is risk in having it digitally copied or stolen then maybe an online marketplace is not the best place for your work? But what is the alternative in this day an age?

Retail stores ALL deal with product theft and likely even build the price of loss into their prices. But they all know that opening your doors to the public means opening up to thieves. See where we are going with this?

I wish you success with your work wherever you promote it.
