On the old forum, many of us have interacted with their store name and may now have a new user name. Thought to make this post to help us recognize each other in these cases.

There was an unstickied post in the Zazzle News Forum on Friday, January 28th announcing the changeover effective Monday, January 31st.

I meant to say above that I do NOT think there was any warning about name choosing.

When  I signed in, I did not see any notice as to the need to be careful choosing a name. Is this what you are referring to? I should have seen a post on January 28 about the fact that once names were chosen in the new forum, there would be no opportunity to revise?

No, my bad.  There was no notification about name-choosing until we were on the first sign-in page.  I thought I was replying as to ZorroCreations being flummoxed by the whole changeover not just not the naming issue.  My reply was probably in the wrong place then.  (At any rate, I know you said elsewhere that you're liking the new format.  I am not a big fan.)

And I just noticed I was upgraded to New Contributor II ... I wonder if there is a master list of the different levels?

As I'm from Holland, and thus non-native, technical stuff is sometimes hard to grasp. So I didn't really get it with siging in into the forum... I didn't realize that usernames couldn't be changed, so now i am NPL. Went by NewParkLane before (a translation of the street i used to live). Would have rather preferred my real name Nathalie or store name. But oh well.... Still trying to figure out what is where here...

I was confused by the message that I had to have a username when I signed in for the first time.  When my old way of signing in did not work, I just quickly made one  up, assuming I could change it down the road.  So now I am stuck with "SHAR-KEN" a combo of  my first name (Sharon) and my husband's first name(Ken) .  When I started at zazzle years ago, I started with whatawonderfulworld as my store name.  Shortly after "getting my feet wet", I decided to open another store using my husband's photography.  He would never want to do the designing and selling end of things, so while I was the one doing all that for both stores, I still wanted him to be credited with his own photography.  So, I called the second store, "KDSphotography".  I actually operated it as a different store in that I used his store name for all of the designs using his photography.   All of his work, I used his name and store name as the copyright on backsides of cards, etc. rather than mine. But, his store still fell under the whatawonderfulworld main store as if it were a second but not separate store (I know it was a strange set-up!)   Now, I  guess I cannot operate the KDSphotography as a separate store.  All communications and postings, etc. come only through whatawonderfulworld.  So it is a little complicated now.  I worry that his store now will lose all momentum that was built up through the KDSphotography name.  People will not know where to find him now.

I don't know how this will affect sales of KDSphotography.    ANYWAY,  I am whatawonderfulworld and now to be known here in the forum, I guess, as SHAR-KEN.   As for KDSphotography , I tried to enter a post under his store name and it would not let me.  So, guess I no longer can post things under his name for things that are relevant to HIS store.   Very confusing still, but trying to figure out all the changes.

Thank you for having specified who you are, the name is new, the profile picture familiar, but I could not associate you. I know you primarily as "whatawonderfulworld" but your hubby's store is also familiar to me. The new forum is linked to our accounts and there is no option to post under your store's name. That's also why I made this post, to let others know who I am, and vice versa. When I got asked for my user name I was 100% sure it would be a definitive, unchangeable choice, this is common practice. It took me a half hour to decide which way to go because my RL business brand is FX Graphica (so is my account and the logo you see on my profile) but I'm exclusively present with my Pet's Dreamlands store right now, and this will also be my main focus in the future. In the end, I chose to use my real name, also to give a personal touch when interacting within the forum/community.

This all affects only the forum, your stores work as usual, there is no change in regard to your husband's store. The only drawback is, that you cannot post as KDSphotography in the show me section. I personally would add your husband's store name and link in your signature so you have both, and in the show me threads you can differentiate. I do it this way with Pet's Dreamlands (the signature comes later).

Hi! I think you may have me confused with someone else. I am not sure who whatawonderfulworld is, but it's not me. Also my husband is not on Zazzle. My shop name and user name have been and still are csinvitations.

Hi Pet's Dreamlands/Florenzo,       What you were saying about adding my husband's store name and link in my signature sounds exactly like what I would prefer.  I only just (with lots of help!) figured out how to add my own  clickable signature after reading lots of posts and doing lots of trials.   I am thrilled just to be able to have a signature now that actually can be clicked on and take a person to my zazzle store.  I do not want to mess with it for fear I will have to start all over figuring it out  (though I THINK I could).  Thank you for your suggestion.

Open your signature area in settings. You can copy your code from there and keep that code somewhere in a document on your computer. When you open the new account, you can copy that signature code and paste it in to your the signature box in the settings area of the new account.
