Why I am styling my Mockups and Why you might Want to

I was scrolling through leggings at marketplace today and discovered that there is a blind spot in the mockup designs and that blind spot is probably costing creators sales.  When leggings are shown styled as activewear / fitness the customers may scroll past thinking “I have enough workout gear”

I am not sure why creators don’t show the legging or tank top in different mockups such as a casual shopping at the mall or work at the office look. In my opinion I think showing the mockups styled with different fashion looks would help sell the top or legging.  (Attract another customer) not just activewear.  Isn’t it better to sell a possibility, with your mockup by showing them “this legging isn’t just activewear”

In my opinion I think you might sell more leggings and tank tops if you showed the customer how to put together the casual, business, or date night look.   ( I am adding  3 fashion look mockups to products to show customer how to create a unique style)

I want to create a need for a product, I want to sell style, plus active or jean looks.

This is what I am working on… Business look

I love the way you styled your leggings...  You have the right idea.  Can I share them on my Pinboard?

Great idea, @Susang6. I have to figure out how to put the leggings on different models since I've never done that before. Now I simply use the Zazzle model with a different background.

I’m not sure which mockup creator you use, but I use a paid subscription to Copilot AI around $12.95 a month, I create realistic mockups by styling the visual background to match the vibe I want: from the model’s hair, makeup, and expression to the jewelry. Then I layer in prompts to guide the AI on how I want the outfit to look head to toe, including the shoes. For me, it’s fun. I like building mockups that feel unique and show customers a real-world need. Like this one: a tank top styled with white shorts on a model with tanned skin, light makeup, and gold jewelry (a tennis bracelet). It’s Boca day life for winter this year what she wears while visiting Boca to shop. Here’s the mockup I created, along with a link to the article I published on how to use Copilot for mockups.

Love the look .. took a look at your blog.. what is the -19%,  -20% on some of the images?  Is copilot similar to midjourney?  I have made a few  mockups and short videos for my products..  One had me cracked up.. (just goes to show you.. no matter how good it is.. ai can NOT be trusted. LOL) I have been using my designed products in the videos..  and all I wanted was the bird to highlight my artwork on the garden flag.. well apparently the bird  didn't care for it.. LOL    well this is what I got..   https://cdn.midjourney.com/video/29317d05-70b2-48a0-a3ce-7841ff379b5b/1.mp4  I was SHOCKED.. and still laughing..

No, you should definitely use that, ha ha!

What do you mean what is the -19%,  -20% on some of the images?

I figured it out .. it was the %off sale from zazzle .. those were zazzle ads .. sorry for the confusion .

 Im an idiot 😜

Susang6

Yes Zazzle paid ads show up on my blogs all the time. I think it's due to my keywords

Susang6

yeah it looks like Zazzle has an anchor ad on my blog .   I have no control over that  saw today when I looked at my blog...feels good that they are on my blog...I must be doing something right

I don't want to sound stupid but what are mock ups and how can you use them. I can't afford to get a subscription to anything.

If you have a google account you can use gemini.

Well thank you that's nice and all but it doesn't go into detail on how to put anything together. I never used a mock up app for anything.

Susang6

I didn't know gemini created mockups...thanks for sharing

I posted a discussion on tissue paper mockups...and at the bottom of my post I have listed the online mockup websites where you can use their templates for your product mockups. The mockup is a way to show your customer what it looks like and helps you sell more / get more traffic.  View here

@CBolton   this is how communicate with AI Copilot to create a product mock up.  I will share a copy or product image then I will write what kind of mockup I want.  In this example I want a mockup for a Christmas pillow .   For me I prefer unique mockups rather than commercial looking ones..that is a personal preference. how I create mockups with copiolot .png

and this is what the mockup looks like. For me Copilot is easy, but I know other designers have found their comfort zone in other mockup websites. The choice is yours.

Do we use Zazzle's templates? or Is there video to show how to do this?

Susang6

you can use Z templates or you can use the mockup website templates, the choice is yours.  I know many designers create their own  templates for mockups, but honestly I think that might be hard to do especially if you never did a mockup before . you might want to start with Canva here is a video

In case you're interested and are tired of mockups missing the mark

I recently shared a teaching post on my POD blog: How to Lead AI with Vision and Integrity  It features a real example: a holiday mockup of my red truck kids’ apron, created with Copilot not as a generator, but as a responsive tool that listens and adapts.   I don’t use prompts. I lead with full sentences clear, specific, with intelligent direction. That’s how I create mockups.

Thanks for sharing that. It's very helpful. I've been working on my "directing". 😉

If you are having any problems with programing your AI to do Zazzle mockups I have a generic HTML that you can upload to reset / recalibrate.  If you are using Canva or other software like that you cannot use the HTML it would be against their terms of service.

Anne

I don't see which software you are using? Thanks!

I’m referring to Microsoft Copilot—the AI assistant available across Windows, Edge, and other Microsoft platforms. In this post, I’m using Copilot on Windows 11, where it’s built into the system and accessible as a sidebar or through the Copilot app. It’s not a separate software you download, but a feature integrated into Microsoft’s ecosystem.

Thanks so much, @Susang6 . I've never even heard of that, so will go try it! Thanks again!

One of those posts that I read and go "Ahhh that is really sensible". Alas that response is often not the one used.😂

Anne

It's very helpful. I only wonder if you managed to create mockups in the 2048 size that Zazzle uses? I asked it to make that, but it only does smaller images? Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts and info, @Susang6

I resize my mockups to 2500 so I can upload to media at zazzle...here is what it looks like in my store.
