Why Referral Lost?

I made a sale and got the referral for it. It was then cancelled. Same person made the same order and it was cancelled again. I made the referral for each and they were both canceled. Same person, same item sold a third time but I didn't get the referral. I never thought about why this was before but this is a double figure loss.  Thanks

Hey @kashmier,

I have listed some of the main reasons why this might happen below:

  • Ad Blockers
  • Changing Browser
  • Changing Devices
  • Changing Domains

None are the guaranteed answer for this specific situation, but they are the most likely.

Thanks for the answer Mark   - If this happens so easily I don't understand why the following happens?

When I have a buyer through the Z message who needs me to design something I can never get the referral. I have tried asking them to delete their cookies and use the link I send them to order the item I designed for them directly from me. The last person used a different device before ordering. Why can I 'never' get the referral amount?  When I am getting a nice referral for something it is easily taken away? A long time ago I decided not to even try to figure it out anymore.  I remember when I started here the big thing was to use a referral link in emails. They never worked then either. I gave up thinking about it.

To add to Mark,s suggestions—

Other possibilities —

customer may have seen and used a sale code, cancelled and reordered,

may have personalized incorrectly,

may have been cancelled by z for some reason and reordered, changed quantity or size or style,

might have cancelled for some reason (wife/husband/whoever) said change that, and  reordered after they thought about it again, using a different computer and/ or clearing cookies,

might have had to use a different form of payment after the order was cancelled,

or a combination of the above—

among other customer-centric reasons.
