I had an issue with Google Analytics no longer updating starting yesterday (1/23/26).  I thought that Google Analytics was down.  That turned out not to be true. Upon more investigating, GA was no longer checked in Zazzle advanced settings in all of my stores so it was no longer updating.  I figured out how to fix it.

There’s apparently updated code that needs to be added.  My old code in Zazzle advanced settings started with UA-xxx…   The new code, found in Google Analytics, began with G-xxx…. Find the code in GA by going to Admin, click on data streams, click on the store feed and find the “Measurement ID” code. I replaced the UA code in Zazzle advanced settings with the new one, clicked the check box and submitted.  Click on a product to check that it’s working. It should shortly come up on the GA real time page.  Do this for all Zazzle stores with a separate GA tracking code.  All of my GA feeds are now updating.

It wasn't checked for me either, even though I've been using GA... for quite some time now.

I’ve used GA since it was first introduced on Zazzle.  My boxes were all checked and I made the necessary changes when it went through their major upgrade to Google Analytics 4 in mid 2024 from the prior “Universal Analytics” tool.  The original tags on Zazzle’s site (the UA-xxxxx.. codes) still worked with the new GA4.  I suspect there must’ve been a drop-dead date when the UA codes were finally retired which for me seems to have been yesterday, 1/23/26.

Thank you for your post on the subject. I had the same problem and was like : “ho my god , nobody viewed my Zazzle store today !!” 😅👍🙏

I misinterpreted that, sorry.
I meant that I've had the GA number in GA  for quite some time now.  I hadn't even noticed the one here. But it works anyway since I re-enabled the checkbox.

@James,

Why did Zazzle only comment on this a week after Google Analytics went down for many of us?  Why weren’t we warned beforehand that Zazzle was removing the old outdated UA code as an option?  I spent a good deal of time wracking my brain over why GA stopped.  Thanks to GA documentation I finally figured it out what the problem was — an outdated UA code and the checkbox unchecked and shared the fix above — nearly a week ago. It shouldn’t have been up to designers to figure out what was broken, which according to the link you provided was a change ZAZZLE made without any thought to giving us a heads up warning.  It’s really frustrating.  Communicate better, Zazzle.  Is that too much to ask?

Per James’ link:

Update as of January 2026:

We've removed the legacy Universal Analytics (UA-) integration option as Google discontinued this service in July 2023. If you're currently using Google Analytics, please ensure you're using a modern Google Tag ID (starting with G- or AW-) instead. Visit your Store Advanced Settings to configure the current Google Analytics integration.

Important notes:

  • Stores already using modern G- or AW- tag IDs are unaffected and continue working
  • No working analytics were disabled - only the non-functional legacy entries were turned off

Thank you for letting me know. I understand roughly what happened. Google analytics changed few years ago, and the code format too. In the meantime Zazzle section text was not updated about code format changing; only at this time we can see: "Google Analytics tag ID (starts with "G-" or "AW-"):". Until a little time ago it showed UA yet, instead of the updated formatting "G" or "AW" and entering the new code was not accepted or however not appropriate. I updated now with new code for data stream. In the mean time I see and I hope my google analytics have worked anyway...

I already was into that much time ago and I maybe also asked to support, but this was in confusing way too.
