Often when using "transfer this design" to create new products, elements from various layers don't carry over when the new product does not have the same design areas or layers.

Is there any way that "transfer this design" could "flatten" (as a photoshop reference) the layers to one top layer, so that it guarantees that all design elements are moved to the new product? This way things won't get left behind/forgotten, and also would help customers who use the feature as well.

Thanks!

If layer flattening gets implemented, I would want there to be a way to turn it off before the transfer. When I transfer to a product with a different aspect ratio I need to be able to move around the separate layers in the new product to fit the different aspect ratio.

@KeegansCreation  oh yes, I did mean for that to still be possible. I should have said that all the design areas like "front/back" were transferred over.

For example, if you start with a set of towels that has different designs on the bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth. But you want to transfer the concept to a kitchen towel - only one of those items designs transfers over. So if I had a pattern on one, an initial on another, and a different design on the third, I have to keep copy/pasting to get all of them on the kitchen towel.

Similar with some favor boxes. Some have a "background" layer that gets completely lost if you transfer to a favor tag. I'd love it if everything can come over to a new design somehow. 🙂

Adding my two cents worth to this topic, I was PLEASANTLY surprised yesterday when designing a duvet with designs on the front, different from the back. I transferred the design to a pillowcase, and voila it transferred it correctly as far as each item was concerned. that was a surprise! a little adjusting sure, but not major... Pleased as punch!
