I haven't searched myself in the marketplace in a long time, but this morning I tried. My store name comes up, but if I search store name + product type or store name + keyword I get zero results.

I realize that customers could just go to my store, but I wonder if there is a reason this isn't part of the search function?

I have also wondered the same thing in the past if it would be possible to implement a more advanced search function (note: putting double quotes around the store name and product/keywords doesn't help ... not that customers would be doing that anyway).

I just tried various searches.

Searching by product and then filtering (right most selection for sorting) is possible by CREATOR STORE or STORES YOU FOLLOW.

Since I follow 2 of my stores, I did the latter and came up with my desired hits.

I went back to verify possible choices and found the CREATOR STORE. Thinking I could then search a specific store, I thought this would be the better choice. No search function and only 100 stores are listed (They at least seem to be alphabetical). Wonder how the 100 are selected?

Do you really think customers search for products this way or are you using it yourself to find things? I mean do customers contact you and say this? I am just curious don't mean to sound rude.

We've passed this suggestion along to the search team a few times now. It's something that they're aware of.

But I'm unsure if there's a good reason for this. What is the problem that this would solve? If someone can explain how this might be beneficial then I'll be happy to send that info along and also try and provide a workaround that you can use for now.

But let's look at this another way. Let's say that I open a store called "funny tshirts" and add a bunch of funny tshirts to it. How is this handled in the search results? When a customer arrives at Zazzle and searches for "funny tshirts" do they want to see products from the store, or tshirts that are funny? It would be very difficult to understand the user's intent without adding significant complexity to search.

@Scott ( I need to tag you since there is no reply button? I'm still getting use to how the forums work)

I guess it's more a me issue than a customer issue ... I tried the other day mostly to see if my new products were in the MP or not. And I can search just my name, but then when I tried to narrow my search that came up empty.

And now that I look closer ... if I search my name, which does work, there is a drop down menu to narrow my results by product that way. So I actually can do what I was asking, just not in the search bar.

Ignore me! 🙂

Have a great weekend!

Yeah, my question was mostly to try and understand what Creators are looking for with this sort of request. The engineering effort that would be required to accomplish this might be immense, so perhaps there's a better way for us to solve this in the future.

Over the years, my reading of this situation is that Creators usually search by their store name to verify that their products are indexed in the marketplace. We actually have the tools to accomplish this already. I'll create a new post about this shortly and link it back here.

Hi MasterpieceCafe, I just searched your Zazzle name and all of your products were there! If you searched your Zazzle shop name + product it would surface! Jilly
