I wonder if some people get discouraged  from buying something from Zazzle, after they see the shipping cost. Since they don't have experience with Zazzle, they may not want to sign up for a yearly membership to have that cost reduced.  Therefore I wonder, if it makes sense to offer them free or reduced shipping cost for their first order.

The people who can afford to shop here, don't worry about shipping. If anything, I hear they are willing to pay more to have the product rushed.

I like the idea! I recently received a message from an irate customer demanding to know how I had the gall to charge $14 for shipping something that she could have mailed for $5. I have no idea which product she was referring to, nor which speed of shipping she had chosen. I apologized and pointed her to Zazzle's Customer Service team, but clearly, there are some customers who are put off by the big shipping charges.

I don't apologize for shipping these days. I mean really that is just the way the world works for now. I just nicely tell them Zazzle is in charge of shipping if they question it and there really aren't many who do question it. I have had maybe 1 in the past month. With weddings what they are, it is just the opposite!

I so often read in the forum that Zazzle only has "well-to-do" customers.  Is there really any truth to that?  How did people come to this conclusion?  How can this be proven?  And if it's a fact, maybe it's due to the high shipping costs.

@WBartworks  if we had only "well-to-do" customers, chances are Zazzle  would not have felt any need for the Klarna payment system. And if we did indeed reach only the rich, then with Klarna, Zazzle is trying to change that, and reach more people in lower income ranges. Those people will like your introductory shipping ideas.

I have also had customer send me irate chat messages regarding shipping. Often times they are wanting to buy stickers, and they say it's outrageous that the shipping costs more than the sheet of stickers. I explain the advantages of Zazzle Black to them, but some of them still say no thank you after that.
