The Satan conspiracy theory is about the public relations battle that Proctor and Gamble dealt with over their moon and stars logo. It had been their logo from the 1800s but then this rumor started running rampant that it was satanic. P&G tried to answer the rumor. Finally, they dropped the logo for a while, but they have brought it back.
The other link is to a thread where James posted. He had this nice avatar/icon. Now he has a big white script Z over it. I know it stands for Zazzle, but when I see it, it causes a thought that it is a political statement, not something you want customers to think. Scott has a black circle with the same Z. I am sure that Zazzle suggested/pushed it, but at this time it could be a mistake.
Yes, I was talking about Russia. My first reaction despite knowing that the Z was for Zazzle was to think of the Z as support for Russia. It would be bad if a customer sees it and spreads that thought.
We have to remember that the forum is opened to the public now. So the public can see everything that is posted and draw their own conclusions about the person posting.
Think about what it would be like for Zazzle to try to rebrand themselves just because someone is using the letter Z for some cause. Also think about there might be Russian designers in the forums who have nothing to do with this conflict and are also caught in the middle. I really wish that politics could be kept separate from the business, especially when the user base is world wide.
