I know this was marked solved on another post but it truly wasn't put into the Suggestions forum to begin with. I'm really going batty and blind trying to create transparent backgrounds on mugs, keychains and other products currently shown on white backgrounds.

Because my time spent on designing has now doubled for one product (creating the design, using the Z design tool and now trying to create beautiful covers), I'd sure appreciate a better system to make cover photos.

If we could get a mockup with transparent background that would be helpful, currently manually removing the surrounding of the product. It's doable but costs more time. So a good suggestion!

I've been trying to make a mask for sorts to speed things up. I'll try to explain -

I download the product mockup. I crop out the item, delete the background. I make sure the item is selected, make a new layer and fill it with color (I use a super bright 'n loud pink). (I save that to re-use.) When you download the next mockup, align your 'mask' as a new layer on top of mockup, invert selection - then go to the DOWNLOADED layer and delete the background that way.

It saves some time in the long run , although that first one might take some fine-tuning. It does limit you in that unless you want to download and make up more mask for different views you're stuck with the one view type.

I hope this makes a little sense, I am horrible at trying to explain things 😞 .

Yes @Van I know all the tricks of the trade... they are all doable but honestly, it doesn't have to be that way. If Z could help us out and give us a download of the product on the transparent background, we could make better use of our time.

Definitely. Having a product image that includes the design on a transparent background would be a game-changer. Especially for the non-paper products. The more specific the product, the harder it is to find matching mockup images.

Short of this, giving us a way to download a blank version of the product (from several viewing angles) would be helpful. It wouldn’t need to be attached to each product. Just a list with links to images in the Zazzle forums would work. Even a .zip file with those images of products on transparent backgrounds.

@Melissa_Pattonabsolutely agree with also having the option to have blank products with transparency backgrounds to make our own templates in software. 🤗

Yes, transparent please!

Paper products are easier to do than other.  I did one cover for a keychain and it took forever.

mugs are the worst

I haven't attempted mugs yet, but I'm dreading it....

I think the acrylic desk nameplates are the hardest... using the actual angle as they are displayed in the Z mockup. I had to create my own mask for it and it was a PIA
