I know this was marked solved on another post but it truly wasn't put into the Suggestions forum to begin with. I'm really going batty and blind trying to create transparent backgrounds on mugs, keychains and other products currently shown on white backgrounds.

Because my time spent on designing has now doubled for one product (creating the design, using the Z design tool and now trying to create beautiful covers), I'd sure appreciate a better system to make cover photos.

I agree. There are some products that I don't even try because it is not going to look good. It will be very helpful indeed.

Hey @JerryLambert I tried my first and last mug today. It is a white handled mug on a white background.  What a PITA!  I finally gave up trying to make it accurate, so it's a bit chopped up around the edges, and looks horrific, BUT it has a super-special, all-important cover background, so that's all that matters, right?

@MidnightZazzler @JerryLambert

I made a Photoshop template for easily transparentizing your downloaded mug mockup. It works with the left and right views of 11oz combo & classic mugs. A number of other Creators shared their own templates for transparentizing other products in the same thread, too.

Here's the thread:

Super, @ColsCreations,

I'll give it a try, thanks!

It would be great if we could just upload our cover photos without the product on it and the product was just automatically placed on it as the zazzle mockups are.  Zazzle uses the same mock up over and over with the same product.  Like a template was made just for that product so it works with all of them no matter the design.  If we only had to create the product mock up once and had the option make it a template, it could be used with the same product over and over.  Who knows, maybe they don't because the next option will be to sell downloads of our created product mock ups.  Just like we can now sell downloads of our designs.   Or, maybe they will create the tool so the mock up can be used over and over.

Zazzle wants us to make mockups, and wants them to look like the products they carry, and I assume wants them to look as decent and professional as possible, so it makes sense that they should supply the mockup of the product with a transparent background so we can quickly make professional looking cover photos with the highest quality possible.

Yes! I was just about to make a post asking for this. Trying to erase the backgrounds is very time consuming and the results are not great. Even the 3D mockup in an an .obj file would be great to use in Blender or other 3D programs. I know there are mockup sites but those images are not specific to the actual Zazzle products.

Do we know if/when this will be implemented?
