I've been dealing with customer service but I don't think my issue/feedback has made it to the proper channels. I ordered some samples of my holiday card designs. They looked great HOWEVER the all-in-one cards were paper clipped. And the paper clip scratched the image on card. Customer service was great about sending a replacement. I get it - and there's another paper clip on there again scratching the card. So I get another replacement; it arrived yesterday with - you guessed it - a paper clip scratching the card. And that replacement was also printed on paper that isn't even an option for the all in one cards (it was on semi gloss and only matte or pearl are offered). I'm at a loss with how to communicate that this is a problem that should be addressed, hence this post. My Zazzle customer service experiences have always been top-notch (truly!) but this is just getting pretty frustrating that the problem isn't being addressed. Appreciate any help getting this passed along and taken care of!

I had something like that happen to a friend of mine over a year ago when she ordered some graduation announcements from me. Cards were damaged 3 times from paperclips & other bad ways they were sent. She showed me proof – they looked awful. She had enough good ones to use but will probably never order from Zazzle again. Customer service ended up refunding her the cost of the cards. And so the order went pink for me & I lost my both my royalty & referral.

That's disturbing to hear this is still happening.

I do get why they would clip it - the all in one cards have stickers to seal them shut for mailing - but it seems like one of those things that wasn’t thoroughly thought through and tested. But it’s disheartening that there’s no way for customer service (who again I will says has always been spectacular - it’s part of why I recommend Zazzle as highly as I do) to convey to the production side “hey this is causing more of a problem - make sure this isn’t done.” I’m guessing all production sees is a reorder and they keep doing what they do. If it were a color issue or a cutting issue, a reorder could look better on a second run. But when it’s something specific like this - especially before the holiday rush and from someone with a vested interest - it would be nice if they held off on a replacement until they can ensure it's been addressed. I have another reorder in the works so we'll see how that goes!
So basically, all these words to say I'd just like the feedback to get to the right person and to get a copy of my card that I can photograph.

Sounds like they need to insert a little bit of tissue paper between the clip and the cards.

Somebody needs to invent a paper wrap to replace the plastic wrap they used to use, that protected the cards perfectly. Even when they don't use paper clips, the outer cards often get damaged by rubbing on the inside of the cardboard envelope. I understand that they are trying to not use plastic to "save the environment" (it's probably illegal in CA anyway, like it is in NY), but there must be some substitute they can use to protect the cards.

When I ordered a sample of the all-in-one cards, I didn't get a seal, so it didn't have a paper clip. Do they only come with certain quantities?

@Connie - I ordered 2 aio cards and got 10 stickers 😬. Now that I've had two re-orders I'm knee-deep in stickers.

I did notice yesterday that the stickers aren't like the perforated ones they used to have. I had done AIO cards for my personal holiday cards a couple years ago when they were first introduced, and they had really nice stickers that you didn't have to rip off of the card - you put the on the sides and then they opened at the perforation. These are just stickers you have to rip off that likely tear the card. Especially if these cards are used for wedding and that detachable part is the RSVP card, a sticker that rips the paper isn't ideal.

Update: 3rd reorder was the charm!

The two cards came and they were neatly tucked into the folded receipt along with their stickers and no paper clip!

Sounds like a total lack of quality control going on.

@BevStuff- I would chalk this one up to a breakdown of communication. In their hurry to make things right for me the customer, they quickly reprinted a card but it probably wasn't communicated what the actual cause of the issue was and that should be reevaluated. So it took a little pushing but I truly don't think it was indicative of a larger scale qc issue.

They could use this as an opportunity to promote their belly band or other packaging products like paper bags?
Seems paper closures would be cheaper and lighter weight than metal, and not scratch the products.

Bellyband idea sounds great to me. That's what they're for, right? I mean, you wouldn't think of sending wedding invitations with a paper clip. Plus it's a good promotion.
