With the new download product mockup function, if we could also get the product as a "stand-alone" -- like a pair of socks all by itself minus the background -- so that we would not have to go through a separate process to remove it from the rest of the plain background, that would be a real time-saver in creating our own product photos.

It works well on most images/photos with a simple/plain background but it's worth a try. Sometimes white within an image are removed and it's unusable.

Yes, and what are the usage rights if the product contains elements or fonts from Zazzle?

I agree - it would be great to be able to get the standalone product to be able to put into mockups. 

It would also be good to be able to download the front and back artwork - it seems you can get the back artwork for business cards but not for profile cards or flyers for example.

I know I'm late to the party on this one, but I'd like to add my vote for adding 'standalone' pix with transparent backgrounds. I'm spending WAY too much time trying to remove backgrounds properly, even with good software. There is often just too little contrast between the background and the product, so invariably, even with the lowest 1% tolerance for background removal, parts of the image itself (eg clothing/mug) are removed.
