I absolutely love the Zazzle throw pillows, both designing them and their quality. My family loves them as well, but they have small homes with a single couch, so covering it with a million of my pillows isn't really an option. lol

Enter: Throw pillow CASES!

With all of the emphasis on holidays and special occasions on Zazzle, I think covers only would make A LOT more sense and possibly skyrocket sales on the product. One can only use and/or store so many pillows at a time, but covers are MUCH easier to store, and it's fun to switch out decor for various seasons and events.

It also doesn't seem like it would be a huge problem in terms of sourcing, as zipper covers are already offered and could move seamlessly into this role.

Perhaps in addition to selling the cases on their own, there could also be bundled options: if someone designs a case with spring on one side and then summer on the other, and then a second case with fall/winter, it would make a great 2-pack of cases. The bundles could also have the option to add a pillow insert if desired in case they have not yet ordered a pillow from Zazzle.

Could not agree more. Covers-only is probably THE one item I would most like to see Zazzle offer. It's so much more practical. I have had people in the past interested in my pillows but passed on purchasing because they could not get them as just the cover. You can get inserts/stuffing at any craft store and you may not even need it if you just want to change the look of your current pillows. Plus it would be easier and cheaper to ship if it was just a flat folded piece of fabric rather than a stuffed pillow. And the pillows I have ordered from Zazzle in the past came vacuum packed within an inch of their lives, had to work to try and fluff them out.

Would love to see cases only so that you can change your theme out with every holiday or event or mood swing and just keep your selection of covers folded in the linen closet with everything else.

I have sold a lot of pillows in my shop, but the two-sided patterns don’t sell, at least for me, So, I no longer create pillows with two different patterns/designs. Your mileage may vary. I have previously asked for the option of selling pillow covers only, so I’m all for allowing this as an option for customers. Plus, it’s environmentally friendly, as this option reduces having to dispose of redundant pillow inserts once the covers are worn out.

great idea. Zazzle has had standard and king size pillowcases for years.
why not for the throw, lumbar, and outdoor pillows, too.

Thanks to all who replied! And thank you, @Megan , for forwarding the suggestion. 🙂

@Jadendreamer13 , your observation about double-sided pillows is interesting. I wonder if I should reconsider how I'm creating them. I may need to start paying attention to that. It IS hard sometimes to decide if they'll like one side but not the other... Something to think about.

I have been buying pillow covers on Amazon.  So, I think this is brilliant.

Many of the designs on Amazon are ripped off directly from Zazzle; I’ve played whack-a-mole for years with the thieves who seem to be mostly China based having stolen dozens of my designs (along with titles and descriptions!). Selling the cases alone would fight fire with fire.
