When a buyer has already made up their mind to buy something,  they then at that time presented with a range of alternatives from other sellers, which means they have another opportunity to change their minds?

These are not other types of products that might make a nice match they are competing products in the identical niche.

Can all pop-up options be our own (where they exist) ?

Thank you for considering this suggestion.

ps. I otherwise love this pop-up!

This also means though, that if a customer adds a product from some other designer in their cart, they might be presented with an alternative that is yours. So from that point of view, the chance of something like that happening is the same for all designers creators.

Just trying to see the positive side of it 😉

I understand that, but generally it will be the best sellers presented. That might work well for best selling designers, but for a smaller seller with a chance to make a 'sale', to have it diverted at the point of going through to sale  ............. not so good. Personally I feel the 'basket' is not the time to offer alternatives. The more times a buyer has to 'click' the chances of sales being lost increases. I'm thinking of bigger picture for everyone who gets to the 'sale' moment.

@CreativeLeahG  I am fully aware of the issue and of the consequences. And the I've seen similar things all over the place, as you probably have too. I didn't disagree with you, I was merely trying to send you something uplifting.

I absolutely agree CreativeDesign  Once the customer has reached the checkout is is definately not the time to promote other designers! Promoting matching products from this designer to add to cart sure no problem with that!  Jilly

For small businesses, It is like ordering flowers online from a florist and at the checkout seeing competitors offerings!  In this case I think Zazzle cannot have a two-way bet !

Have to speak up here,  I am not happy with the lure!  If my product design has gotten them all the way to the basket and all that is left to close this sale is payment, why is there any distraction that might cause this sale to be aborted?

The goal is to close the sale.   If there was an add on to add to the cart that would be okay but competing products that will cause me to lose a sale is not okay!

This goes back to Zazzle not considering the designer.  They always get the sale no matter what is is that is purchased. However when we designers (creators or whatever you want to call us)  have a chance to make a sale PLEASE don't ruin it for us with links out off of our page!!!!  this is very upsetting to see that once again individual designers don't seem to matter.

I think the idea behind this is well meaning but think about it......

wouldn't it be MUCH more cool if instead of presenting alternative designs or designer designs....
we could be suggesting items that are relative to what is being sold as add on sales from the same designer as long as that designer has add-on products related.

For example:
if the buyer has business cards in the cart  or at checkout we could suggest business card holders
if the buyer has party plates we could suggest party cups
if the buyer has coolers maybe suggest can coolers

Instead of suggesting they buy something else....
suggest they buy more 🙂

Just a thought
wouldn't it benefit the buyer, the designer, and Zazzle if we suggested products that are likely to be add-ons to what they are already purchasing?

@igiftcenter  I think this may have been the intention, but instead what is showing are competing niche items by best selling designers (about to go platinum this potentially includes me) . Hopefully as this is the 'basket' and a sale is about to go through, Zazzle will rethink this particular strategy. Showing other items in the collection (by same designer) as you suggest would be great.

if this pop up said "frequently bought together"  and then showed other items from a collection by the same designer,  it would then be perfect and I honestly believe would result in more knock on sales and benefit both the designer of the collection as well as Zazzle.   It would also encourage us to create more design related collections and make them look fabulous.

I hope the PTB will think about this!

eta: another side effect would be that it could also benefit the 3rd party affiliates and encourage more promoting.  win/win for everyone...
