As the nexus of what our design space could look like I would love us to have the opportunity to work with a modular design space where we as the designer could click an Edit button to be able to move different parts of our design space around to suit our needs.

For example: you may as a designer be able to drag and drop the left side menu to the right side or you may want to drag the right side design tools to the left side and when done click a box finished and start designing with the different modules where they are most convenient for your workflow. Or you might even be able to hide some parts of the workspace that are a distraction to your workflow.

I've uploaded one or two parts of our design space as examples of parts of our design space that could become modules that could be arranged.  I know this is a "way out there' idea but it would be just one more way to customize our design space that might help speed up our workflow.

Interesting idea. If this would result in customers having a changing appearance in the design tool while they are personalizing or editing a template, then this change would be a non-starter. If it’s only your design space that would be effected, then go for it.

It seems like you’re looking for something similar to the table design tool in Dreamweaver or the box feature in Wordpress, both of which bring about additional design challenges. I have yet to find design tool utopia. But I’m always hopeful for Zanadoo.

This is only suggested for us...the designers. Not for customers.

it is also not a permanent suggestion it is a suggestion for the possibility of having the option to temporarily move the modules around as needed. There should also be a "reset button' where it sets everything back exactly as it was. This could be used during a design session or maybe even allow "saved workspaces" like you can in Photoshop.

Consider this an idea for "floating" workspace modules that can be drag and dropped when desired with the ability to set it back to the default when you are done in a design session or whenever you see fit.
