Does Setting Higher Royalties for Digital Downloads Lower Store zRank?

Does setting higher royalties for digital downloads lower store zRank (as it does when setting royalties of 15% or higher for non-digital download-enabled products)?

Great question, hope you get a quick answer.

My zRank wasn't affected when I raised my royalty, and eventually it even went up, so I'd say that, no, it doesn't affect rank.

I made a lot of improvements in my store and suddenly the rank went down from 8 to 7. Coincidence or not, I had just raised my default royalty because of my improvements.

By the way... Where do we set the royalties for digital downloads? I couldn't find it...

I think you'll find your answer in this thread: https://community.zazzle.com/t5/instant-downloads/setting-royalty-rate-for-digital/m-p/60766

The royalties aren't set where we've always set them before. It happens when we first post a new product, or it can be found when we edit the details of a product.

We have never been told what changes affect Z rank or how they affect it. I will be surprised if Zazzle tells us now.

It's sad that we're being ranked on unknown qualities with unknown results. If our rank is 3 or 4, what haven't we done that we should have? If it's 7 or 8, how do we maintain it? Is it a result of good/bad sales, and if so, does it mean our sales will increase/decrease? My rank has slowly increased over time, but my sales were better when my rank was somewhat lower. Maybe there's no correlation, and maybe it's something else, but what?

My decision has been to ignore it, given the lack of clarity.

My zRank of 5 years has dropped from 9 to 6 in a matter of only 10-15 days. Not sure what's going on, but I'm seeing other people have also mentioned a similar thing here. I think Zazzle is doing something......fishy! 😀

I was panicking, but reading responses here with similar experience is giving me some consolation that I'm probably not alone.
