I am starting a brand new blog and writing page descriptions for each post.....I am guessing these descriptions are for Googlebot and not for people to read, as I cannot see the descriptions appearing on the page after I publish the post. Therefore, is it okay if I leave out capitalization, punctuation and just write a basic, not very flowery description and just keep it loaded up with the appropriate keywords?
Example---I just wrote this for one of the posts on my postcard blog. Is this sufficient, or so I have to polish these unseen descriptions up? --lighthouse landmark postcard for collectors and history buffs. norfolk, hampton virginia, on chesapeake bay

I am not sure, but I always assume that a human might be able to see what I write and so punctuation and capitalizations and spelling etc. bug me if they are not right. I have heard that Google likes you to write things that are readable by humans. but I am not an expert so take this with a grain of salt also... 😁

Oh, I think you are RIGHT! I did SO much blogging like fifteen years ago and now that you speak of making it readable, I found a few articles and I remember that what I write in the description IS going to show up to the eyes of readers. They are going to see it in search results (if I ever get so lucky). That's where this stuff appears, on a search page. So I need to make it so someone wants to click.
Thanks!!!
I am learning a lot from this article I found. http://www.thedutchladydesigns.com/2015/03/create-pages-and-link-them-to-labels-in-blogger.html
