Zazzle has insisted on creating media for collections. And, yes, it does look nice on the overall collection site. But it ONLY shows the primary media file and ONLY on the all collections site. When I first read about doing this it sounded like the media would also show on the the Collection page and on product pages so you could see coordinating items. Somewhere I'm missing something.
I have a large collection of home goods (duvet, shams, blankets, etc) created from my original textile designs and I want the customer to see how they can be coordinated within the collection for a complete home decor look. I thought the media would provide that showcase but it does NOT. So what is the point of creating media?

Glad you brought this up again.
This has been ongoing for almost 2 years.
Just went to my albums, checked my videos
Details:
one of many I uploaded to collections
on collection section
uploaded March 2024
file type: mp4
size: 720x720
video
size: 0:09
None of my videos are the primary, they are all listed after the single product images.
when viewing public storefront collections
none of my videos show, so apparently you are correct, why don't the show up on the storefront media?
I am thinking that media videos might be Zazzle abandonware.

So, I did some research:
https://www.zazzle.com/creators/playbook/media+manager
How to upload images and videos to Media Manager
1. Go to your published Product Page and click “Media Manager" in the Listing Tool Bar
2. Upload and select images or videos from your image folder. You can select multiple at a time! Below are the Media Manager guidelines:
3. Images and videos can be reordered by clicking, holding, then dragging. Customers will see the “primary” image on the Product Page and within search results. Note, only images can be selected for “primary”.
4. Add captions to share with customers on why your product is unique!
5. Click close to save changes. Please allow up to 24 hours for your changes to apply.
Videos
• Videos must be shorter that 90 seconds to be added to the media manager
• Videos cannot be the “primary” product image
• Videos may need extra time to process on servers after uploading
• We support MP4, MPEG, 3GP, AAC, AVI, FLV, MOV, and most video file types
• We recommend uploading video content in a 1080×1920px, 9:16 smartphone video aspect ratio for optimal mobile viewing but welcome other sizes as well. Feel free to repost your content on multiple platforms to maximize exposure

List of Image Sizes for Your Storefront:
Zazzle recommends 1080 x 1920. Checking the properties of my files on my computer, I made & uploaded my vids at that exact size. But viewing the info on them in My Images on Zazzle, they are 404 x 720. Likewise the square vid I made & uploaded at 1080 x 1080 but in My Images, Zazzle says it's 720 x 720. So it seems that regardless of what larger size you upload them at,
NOTE======>they are being converted to a max size of 720 x 720 to fit the square layouts.
I don't know if Zazzle displays them larger that anywhere, but I'd guess it's like images where it's a good rule of thumb to always go a little larger than required to be safe since being sized down is better than having something too small get sized up.

Zazzle did give a blanket recommendation to put media on all collections so I initially did. But it turns out that media only shows on the product page for a subset of Cross Sell collections. It won't show for any other collection types, including Cross Sell not in that subset, such as Home and Living. Home and Living Cross Sell does seem like a logical place to allow the media to show but for now, it doesn't. It also doesn't for selected Cross Sell holidays like Saint Patrick's Day or Valentine's Day.
I made a list of all the Cross Sell collections where it does show and now only make media for collections on this list. What unites all these collections is they all have required products and recommended products.
