Not receiving my referral credit

My husband and daughter both bought products from my store today from direct links of mine and I did not get a referral credit for either.  I do receive random referral credits every once in awhile so I know that I'm signed up okay.  They both have separate Zazzle accounts from mine and  my daughter is grown and doesn't live with me so I don't understand why the referral didn't go through.  I gave sent my husband a direct link to a product and I gave my daughter a link to my store.  Am I doing something wrong?

Here are a few senerio's where you would not earn the referral...

One of them clicked on a link in a Zazzle email in the last 7 days.  All those links have Z's referral id attached.  Since 7 days have not past, Z's referral id sticks and they get the referral.

One of them clicked on a link in the last 7 days on Pinterest or some other social with someone else referral id attached.  Again, since 7 days have not passed, the other person's id sticks and they earn the referral.

There are more...  It is always frustrating when you think you've done everything right and the referral does not come through.  I have a few friends that shop at Zazzle and they go through my website, picking up my rfid on the way.  I think once, it has actually stuck.  Usually they get an email about a sale and visit Z, then they think of me and back out and go through my site... which is great, but they already picked up Z rfid, so it doesn't help me...lol.  I usually don't have the heart to tell them or to "train" them to clear cookies, etc...

Because someone else rfid cookie and stick to a browser for 7 days before yours can be set, there are all sorts of ways to not get the referral...

Sorry it worked out that way...

Thanks, I did not realize that if you click on another Zazzle link and then buy anything in the next 7 days that referral goes to them, even if the buyer intentionally clicked on one of my promotional links.  I cleared my browsing history on our computer and my husband was able to make a purchase in which I got the referral credit.  I guess I will have to instruct family members to clear their browsing history before buying anything from my store through one of my links.

this is helpful to know! and sad to realize, because it's so hard to get a referral payment, ugh.

I have had the same frustration in the past... i believe it's not your browser history you have to delete, but clear the cookies.... (in Firefox found under> preferences > privacy)

Hello, I would like to ask that does it happens only when we promote other designer's products or it is also possible to happen with your own product? Thank you
