Paid Ads on Social Media?

Hi, I've noticed that Pinterest and Twitter 'X' often suggest that I 'promote' a pin or tweet by paying for views or clicks.  What is Zazzle's policy on paid ads on social media?  Is this allowed and even encouraged?  Disallowed or maybe not worthwhile?  Is it considered 'fair play' or an unfair way to 'beat the system'?  I don't yet have a website, so any clicks would go straight to the product on Zazzle.

Thanks Leah. So, if I’m reading it correctly, we can pay for ads on social media, as long as

1. we don’t use any keyword that contains ‘Zazzle’. And we must not claim we are Zazzle.

2. When customers click our ad, it must not bring customers to our product on Zazzle.

Is 2. really the case and if so, why?

Did you read Zazzle's terms re this?

Hi Leah,

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I've looked through the info but am still confused.

I clicked your links on the other thread, to Zazzle's blog posts on Advertising (Facebook) and Advertising (Google), but they take me to Zazzle's most recent blog post, rather than to the posts you mentioned. I've been scrolling through the blog, but haven't yet found them.

I was interested that on the other thread you said'...and we can't link direct to our stores or products (which I didn't know)'.  I haven't found this rule - perhaps it was in the above mentioned blog posts?

In the Associate agreement mentioned on the other thread, it says "You may not use Zazzle's brand to generate Referral Fees. This includes, but is not limited to, bidding on any keywords containing the trademark "Zazzle" or using the trademark "Zazzle" in advertisements associated with paid search, online content networks and online display networks." And in the User Agreement there's another mention of not infringing on a trademark, but that's all I can find.

I have never intended to bid on 'Zazzle' as a keyword. However, I don't quite understand exactly what is meant by 'using the trademark'. Does it mean you can pay for promotion of your own Pins of Zazzle products, as long as you make it clear you are not Zazzle? Or does it mean you can't even mention the word Zazzle on any promoted pin, such as 'This is my design which is available on this product on the Zazzle website?'

Perhaps a Zazzle employee can elaborate. I never went the route of paid ads in the end, so can't advise.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, Leah.  I had been asking Google's 'Bard' about how to build more success on Zazzle and whether paid ads are something often used by sellers. It told me it's quite commonly done!  But I don't necessarily believe everything it says, so thought I would check.  I appreciate your replies, so thanks again.
