Not sure if anyone will be interested in hearing the story behind the product creation, but who knows, it may spark an interesting discussion, so here I go with the complete tale of what I just built yesterday. It all starts with the tale of a WordPress blog, and a Pinterest account. See, the Pinterest account is set up to pull an RSS feed from the blog, and auto-post a pin with the "featured image" from WordPress. That's all well and good, Klaus, but what does it have to do with Zazzle? Bear with me.

Now, the particular blog post we're interested in this tale of product creation (I'm getting to that, I promise), is one called Wasted Years? No More! How God Can Turn Your Regrets into Joy and Purpose

Now here's where it gets interesting. I started noticing something everyone with an online presence should be interested in. A traffic spike. A HARD traffic spike! And climing. Just take a look at those screen shots. And specifically, yes you might have guessed, traffic generated by the automated pins coming from the above article.

Now that's what I love about Pinterest! Thousands of new views a day from a pin that I posted way back in January?!? The question is, what to do to take advantage of this? Well, since I'm already regularly sharing my Zazzle products on Pinterest boards, I figured, why not have a whole collection of various products that feature the image that's getting so popular? So that's what I did. I dare say it's too early to see if this will result in sales, or even traffic to the related products. Only time will tell. But, that's why I created a collection to match the blog post...

The theory? Pinterest likes to show people "similar pictures" the one they're viewing. And if the pin for the blog post is getting a view thousand views a day, maybe this will finally lead to some traffic getting to my Zazzle store. Only time will tell...
