Products 404 page in public view

I'm a wet paint noob. Just uploaded my first products and they are in store manager side but when switch to public view it 404 pages me. I must be doing something wrong. As for the system it has me listed as 55% done on my setups. I also cannot save my banner. I'm posting here since I feel I may be missing something instead of technical thing.

Your products will not go public for a few days. There is always a delay as the site refreshes and reindexes. The banner issue is a problem engineers are working on. If you try again mid week, it may work with no problem at that point.

Thanks. Is the delay every time you add new products or is it just because I'm new and this is the first postings?

The delay always occurs. Today I am seeing my products from August 17 displayed publicly, but I see nothing more recent. Sometimes the delay is only a day or two but right now it's taking a long time.
