It would be great if when products Marked with an exclamation mark for Optimization contained a pop-up when the exclamation is touched that showed the needed correction. At the moment we don't even receive an email on these issues, which would create even more issue by going back and forth to our inboxes which is why I suggested a pop up. Examples below.
1) not viewed. 2) tagging issues 3) inferior image 4) design placement 5) text placement 6) Product Title issues 7) description issues 😎 text customization issues 9) photo customization issues.
These are common issues and if a store has multiple items to optimize, as we all know it can take awhile just to find the appropriate issue with 1 item let alone multiple. Especially for those that are newer to Zazzle. Any thoughts or suggestions?

I've never seen it discussed before. I hadn't even thought about it until you brought it up. I guess I just assumed that clicking through other color options would count as a view but it turns out that it doesn't.

If a product is labeled as needing optimization you can assume that the tags, title and description need to be edited

Products flagged for optimization are flagged purely because of 1)not viewed. It is up to the designer to review the product and figure out which, if any, of the items 2-9 need to be addressed. As waterart notes, start with tags, title and description as possible reasons why the product hasn't been viewed. But it is not guaranteed to be one of those.
tl:dr there isn't a human reviewing the products. They just get auto-flagged for optimization after they have not been viewed for a long time.

Yes, it used to be if it was marked as needing optimization that it could be viewed and the exclamation mark went away. Often the items I have marked are in a group and the rest of the group has more recent views. Since I use the same name tag and other info I have never felt a need re-evaluate those issues. The color just wasn't as popular.

I wonder if not being viewed is affected by not being grouped properly. Some items I may have 20 color options, some are in a group of 9, Some 6, & some not grouped at all. I know when I view items online if there is a group of color choices I usually click on each color option to see what is available. I may only open 1 item, but I view all of them.

This is testable. I just went to your store and selected a tank top (His Angel) which has 10 color options. I opened the burgundy one. Then I clicked on 4 color options. Tomorrow- or whenever this action gets indexed-when you sort by Last Viewed you will see either just the burgundy His Angel tank top recently viewed or you will see 4 colors of His Angel tank top recently viewed.
1)If you see 4 colors of His Angel tank top in recently viewed then that means that just clicking on a color choice in the grouping will count as a view and save the product from needing to be optimized.
2)If only the burgundy tank top shows as recently viewed, that means clicking on multiple colors won't count as views on the other products in the group. They will seem to be unviewed even if people click on them as a color choice. The only way to save them from needing optimization is for you to manually open them. If this is actually how it works (won't know till tomorrow, or if a moderator chimes in) then I don't think you would need to change tags/titles/descriptions when you have one color option being viewed but the others in the group need to be optimized. Just open them.

Thanks. I just checked and only the Burgundy one of the (His Angel) items showed as being viewed. So the 4 color options you chose did not show any new views when sorted by Last Vew Date. I wonder how many views get miscalculated due to grouping issues. Interesting. Has this issue been raised before and I missed it? It would be great to have it resolved.

Accidentally hit the Accept as Solution button. I have a touchy touch screen. Lol. I always assumed it didn't since I create many groups and have not really seen more than one of the items viewed at a time. Sometimes multiple views of that item, but not usually any views of the rest of the grouped items.

I find just reading through this short article whenever I'm optimizing products makes it easy. 😀 Zazzle tells us exactly what they want done and why an item needs to be optiimized.
It depends on the product and its stats what we need to do to make it optimized and unhidden again.

Yes they do. I realize now I should have placed this in the suggestion and feedback thread. I was grateful last time I chose the wrong thread and a moderator moved the thread to the appropriate area, although technically it qualifies for both threads. I was hoping someone with more experience than me had a better way of finding the issue.
