Cannot add products to a new, active, verified collection (with screenshots, actual example)

So I had an idea to build a new collection around some existing products. Specifically, refrigerator magnets...
The collection is built, and live, and SOME magnets are added, and I can see the collection in a private tab in my browser when I'm not logged in. All is well. ALMOST...
Here are the problems...
- Magnets that are live and active in the same store DO NOT APPEAR on the product list when I'm editing the collection to add products, so can not be added that way. SOME products appear there, but NOT ALL OF THEM. WHY???
- When I go to the very same products that are noticeably absent in the collection editor, but this time in the PRODUCT LIST, and choose the Add to Collection action, the collection that I want to add them to DOES NOT APPEAR ON THE LIST. Or search results either.
It's been SEVERAL DAYS.
The collection is live and visible. To me, and to people who aren't even logged into Zazzle. WHY can I add SOME products to this collection, but not all? WHAT IS GOING ON??? This SUCKS beyond belief, Zazzle. Get with it and stomp this bug.

If it is a new collection, there is an ongoing problem of it not showing up as an option when you try to add products to it. The only way to add products to the collection is to go to Collection Management, and add them through the add products button.
