Character map for fonts?

How do I generate a character map for Zazzle fonts so I can use the special characters within each font?

Thank you!

@LindaS1

there isn't one (despite requests in the past for one), unless you have these fonts installed on your system and have a font manager that does the trick: font manager apps that show all the glyphs in your... - Zazzle.

however, you can refer to this collection of special character contact sheets in the interim.

Thank you so much!

I decided to create my own master sheet for the script fonts, and another one for the glyph fonts.

It makes things so much easier when you have all the tools in an easy to use format.

@LindaS1 always a good idea! 🙂

I'm sure you already know this, but just in case, don't use any glyphs in text templates.

@Barbara  Why?

You don't want to do it because customers are very unlikely to even know what a glyph is. Save your use of them to non-templates.

You can also use them in a text design and save that as an image to use in the actual template design. Not for use in personalization like names, but for the main text maybe. So Happy Birthday can be created with the swashes and saved as an image to use in the design for sale. I have seen them used in personalized designs with instructions not to delete the little boxes though.

You don't have to save a text design as an image as long as you don't make templates of it. I personally wouldn't ever use them as part of template even with instructions so as to save customers (and me) from the oops moment of deleting them.

@Barbara , Would listings with glyph font get removed from the marketplace when that particular font is no longer available in Z design tool?

@1234Shine: That would depend on the reason the font is no longer available. In the most recent case where the font designer insisted it be removed, everyone who had used the font had it automatically replaced with another, which caused problems for designers. Zazzle did the best they could. But, if Zazzle simply retires a font because, say, they believe no one is using it, they apparently archive it for designs containing it. I have a few products using a font no longer listed, but the products still function correctly even though the text templates use the "retired" font and they're completely functional.

(I'm surprised this thread is still in the Technical forum, given that it doesn't involve a technical issue that needs repair.)
