Creating Templates on Embroidered Products Not Working

When you click "make template" and identify the template - Line 1 for example - the next line of text or next text area in a different location, changes to the Line 1. They WILL NOT keep the Product Page Label assigned.

I've checked to see what shows online and it shows only one of 'same named' templates for personalization, leaving other personalized areas off so customers can't change all areas.

I can't fix it. Tried on several products, created a new one vs improving an old design - the same issue happens on both. Except the new T-shirts in varied colors seem to work, at least the one I tried did.

This issue has been here a long time and I couldn't find any open report about it.

Please someone else try working with embroidered apparel and adding text to more than one location on the apparel and let me know if the Product Page Labels for each hold as named.

Hi @SalonOfArt @Mark I found the same thing happening with the url parameter box staying at text1 for each template, thus overriding each other resulting in just one template showing. Until this is fixed, you can change the number manually in the parameter boxes for each additional template ie text2 / text3 etc and then each template shows as it should.

@SalonOfArt
These links might help—(you may already have read the info in  them)

I had to dig a little to find this link, see page 13 about templates—-
<https://asset.zcache.com/assets/graphics/z2/mk/custom/embroidery/download/ZazzleEmbroideryDesignGuid...
and

Thank you, but this is not a download or image creation issue. The Product Page Labels for each text area on these products DOES NOT stick. It changes to whatever you identify as the next Product Page Label for the template I.D.

Hi @SalonOfArt,

I can't seem to replicate this issue. Can you please reply with a screenshot showing the issue and product ID/link?

Hi Mark - thanks for responding.

I created this one yesterday. All text areas had different Product Page Labels for each text template, i.e., Left Chest Text, etc.

Yet all of them change to Text 1 and do not show all four custom areas to personalize in the public view.

Thank you for this, @Sandra-.

@SalonOfArt, I have tested this myself today and verified it is correct. If you leave "text1" in each URL parameter, this will treat all the template fields the same. If you use "text2", "text3" etc. they will operate independently of each other.

In your example product, I can see that several of the templates have the URL parameter "text1" so if the customer changes one, they will all change.

Hi Mark -

Well, I tried to remake this one. I first when and turned template OFF on all text areas. Then started identifying one template at a time by changing both the template and the URL. As I continue down, they all begin to change again.

Hi @SalonOfArt

I have an update on this issue and it's not clear why embroidery isn’t incrementing that, but if the URL param is identical to another template object of the same type (i.e. 2+ text objects), then it is treated as a single template, so the label name will change to match each and only 1 template field shows up on the final product. When you edit the template field on the final product, all of the objects will update with the new value. So, try the workaround of changing the URL parameter to something unique for each string. See the example below. Hope this helps 🙂

I never change the URL parameter field so I'll have to try that. Thank you! I'll get back to you.

Well that doesn't work for me. Same issue one changes to the other.  Sadly this is messed up on all the embroidered products I have to the point where customers stopping buying, still view though, because if you change one field as a customer, it changes another as well.
