Pinterest Pins do not display product descriptions anymore, even on old pins

It used to be that Pinterest pins showed our actual product descriptions as the pin description.
Reviewing even some of my oldest pins, now, every single one only shows the generic "Product Details" description that is the same for every Zazzle item of a particular type (dimensions, paper type, where it's printed).
There's been lots of transitions on Pinterest over the years, the last I was aware of was that Pinterest would display whatever custom design description we wrote when posting the products EVEN IF we made a custom pin and slightly reworded the product descriptions.
This new find has me wondering - is this particular change intentional? It seems like we are losing out on SEO when Pinterest is displaying millions of pins with identical Pin descriptions, and as designers, we are only limited to describing our products per the Product title now.
I guess I'm curious why we've lost our custom product description as part of Pinterest SEO in general, and if this is what is expected to be happening, or possibly a glitch? (Pinterest used to give instructions about coding in particular ways to ensure that what was shown on pins was what a website creator wanted there "back in the day" lol)
Or is this a temporary glitch of some sort?

I checked one of mine and it's displaying my own description. What I find with Pinterest, is that the display will change from my description and back to the Zazzle default and back to mine, and so on. I see no reason for this behavior, but I think the question is better posed to Pinterest and not to Zazzle. I think it's a Pinterest issue.

I can't be bothered keeping up with Pinterest changes so I have not asked in the Pinterest forums, or checked. But that's a good place to look for answers.
I also do Postcrossing!

Some of mine have their own descriptions (interestingly, they are the dog shirts (!), which sadly have been discontinued 😥), but I believe the majority of my pins are, quite frustratingly, the generic Pinterest description.

This started about a year ago... If the link leads to a Zazzle url, specifically a product page, then at some point in time you will experience what the OP is describing. This is Pinterests doing. The same applies to many Etsy pins and many other POD sites. It is also wonky... sometimes a pin will keep your description for a long time and then change. I have seen pins revert back for a short time too. Like I said...wonky.
I pushed hard back then to uncover why it was happening, both through P and through Z. I never really uncovered the why behind the changes to descriptions.
This is part of what turned me off from P for awhile. It is super frustrating. But if your pin link leads back to a website or blog or someplace other than Zazzle, the description you write should stay... but P might pull the description from the pins url landing page. So be thoughtful about your image descriptions on your non Z sites.
