Wow, yes, the Pinterest share just worked! Facebook share still doesn't right, but thanks to whoever fixed the pinterest share!

But when I click the product link from Pinterest on my phone, it doesn't work. It doesn't direct me to Zazzle.

have you got the share or link button to work on Pinterest mobile as of yet? because I cant seem to get this to work.

It works now, thank you 🙂

It is working now however they are no longer showing up as "created" pins which pinterest favors. I hope this is fixed. My sales and views are down enough and pinterest drives a LOT of my traffic. I can't afford to take a hit there.

@PrintablePretty what are "created" pins? Is this something different than making a manual pin? Thanks in advance! (My sales have been down quite a bit as well in the past few months...)

@ColsCreations Thank you so much for this invaluable info!!! And I really appreciate you taking the time to explain & post all this!

I also recently noticed that I am no longer able to tag products on created pins. I can do so with my Spreadshirt products but not with Zazzle products. It would be cordial if Zazzle gave designers an update on why so much has changed regarding integration with social sites.

I can only conclude Zazzle either doesn’t want any of us earning affiliate income or there’s a major technical issue somewhere.

So I don't get it. It's pinning now directly from Zazzle but there's actually 0 description under the product. Previously, it would either show as #1 or #2 & I had no control over that as well. But this seems worse. If I do click on the product only the zazzle.com is clickable (not the title, like before). But it does take me to a screen of the product that if I then click on that, it'll go to the Zazzle product page.

So is this working or not working? And if the stars align, would I even be able to get a referral on this type of pin?

And is it worth it to even bother pinning anything during this buggy time?

That link doesn't work. We just need to wait for them to fix it. Today is Sunday, so we'll have to keep waiting.

The info showing under the pin just shows that it is a rich pin which means the website it is linking to has been verified.  It has no bearing on you getting a referral from it.  As long as you pinned using your referral, then you will get a referral as long as all of the other requirements are met.  (Customer has cookies allowed, has not used another Z referral link within x days, etc)

Well Pinterest is working like it should but FB is back to not working at all.

This thread made me start questioning the value of this process due to the following...

  • Product Pins: All of my pins submitted to Pinterest through this process are being converted by Pinterest to Product Pins that do not comply with Pinterest's Paid Partnership guidelines since they are not identified as an #ad.
  • Visibility: Product pins include data regarding product specs which do not include any keywords that Pinterest users would search for.

Is anyone finding any value using this process to post to Pinterest? I would love it if we could all maximize our Zazzle affiliates through Pinterest this upcoming holiday season!

There is a small value in sharing directly from Zazzle to Pinterest. The product will still appear in a search although the images are small and looks like only the titles of the products show now, no description. That means all important keywords would need to be in the title. There are other issues with this though; Zazzle's product pictures being a 1:1 square ratio appears very small on Pinterest. The best size for Pinterest is 2:3 ratio vertical images. And the main issue I always run into is that if I ever update a design, which I often do, I am not able to edit the url link since I did not "create" the shared Pin. Any products I have pinned in the past, that I have since updated the design, lead to no where on Zazzle 😭 It doesn't even lead back to my store which is a crime haha. I have come to the conclusion to go the extra mile and "create" the pins. 2:3 ratio of the product pic so they show up well and I will also be able to edit the url link if I ever need to. And yes, it's a pain and I'm embarrassed to even say how much work I have spent creating marketing pictures.

It's horrible that we have to create a new product to update a design. All the hard work we've done and time wasted getting eyes on a url are thrown out the window! Ugh!

After doing a bit of Pinterest research, I think I am going to go the extra mile too and try to create pins that Pinterest rewards (correct size, keyword rich, labeled correctly, etc.)

I have been very sporadic with Pinterest and my efforts only represent less than 1% of my royalties. Have you had any luck with your Pinterest advertising?

I tried Pinterest advertising once, but it was for society6 products. I am not on society6 anymore. I don't know if I was just terrible at setting up ads but I received nothing! I think I got less clicks then my not advertised pins and of course it didn't bring in any sales. That was some years ago. I've been discourage to try their ads again since.

That was my experienced with paid ads on Pinterest. Other than that, just regular pins tend to bring the most traffic to my store out of all other social media platforms that I post on.

As long as they are your own products I don't think you have to worry about the #ad, but you can always make your own pins and put the disclaimer directly on the image using text.  That is what I did when I was affiliating for other people.

Thank you for your interpretation.

When this sharing Zazzle tool stopped working I thought it was a good time to learn look into do some Pinterest research. To date, my referrals represent less than 1% of my sales and I thought just maybe I could do something better. lol

It looks like I need to do a bit more research as I did not read the guideline as #ad needed to be directly on the image.

Malissa

You're welcome.

It doesn't *have* to be on the image.  It's just another way of doing it to ensure that a disclaimer remains on the pin itself since the text seems to fluctuate for whatever reason now.

Considering that zazzle market place is bloated with other designs. That 1% is very important, a single sell can push that product ranking up a lot (even if just temporary).  I've created pins, but out of laziness I prefer to hit the share button, it only takes a few seconds verse the time it takes to the  minutes it takes for creation.

I am very grateful for the less than 1%. 😊  I really I wish I knew if it came from a pin I created in Zazzle or if it was a manual pin.

Are you having any luck with only using the share button?

Apologies to the Mods, I am trying to avoid extra discussion here but ...

I really I wish I knew if it came from a pin I created in Zazzle or if it was a manual pin.

If you're making manual pins (or manual shares anywhere else), add a tracking code to the link after your RF ID:

&tc=PIN.08.19.2024

The blue part can be any note you want to tell yourself where/what link the buyer clicked on that resulted in the referral. Then on your Referral History report, you'll see that note on the line item.

Thank you so much @ColsCreations  - - you are always so full of information! I will definitely try that trick going forward!

I see you posted to the Promotions forum about Pinterest. I will make sure that I go there for further discussions about Pinterest as I didn't know there are rules for the Technical Issues forum.

I actually had no clue that was the forum dedicated to affiliate marketing. That bit of knowledge will help me going forward as I often struggle with some of the discussions in the Zazzle Creator community. I often think a topic being discussed is about designing on Zazzle and later piece together the conversation is actually about Zazzle affiliate marketing. lol

Thanks again!!

Almost 10% of my earnings are referrals ie $42,000 referral fees v overall total $420,000 (rounding).

So it is pretty significant and as such I obviously am concerned when things affect those figures.

So I didn't have this problem this morning...but now I do. My chrome browser is up to date, and my      cookies were cleared...have no idea why I cannot share from Zazzle to  Pintrest using the share buttons Pinterest error.png

Wow, yeah, I just tried it myself and looks like it is broken again 😞 I will create a new thread to mention it is not working because this thread says there is a solution so support might not look back on this thread if it appears to have been solved.

ok, scratch that, people have already created a new thread for it 😆

I don't mean to be rude but 'Cool'  it is not just happening to me this time.'  Hope we all get it going soon. I tried using a share app on Chrome that I have been using for Facebook ( FB still not working the old way) Any how Pinterest is not working with the separate app either.

Tonight I am getting "Sorry! Something went wrong. Please make sure the URL is correct and try again" I thought it was older items and tried newer ones and still not working. As for Facebook this has not been working for me for many months.

I have had the same problem for the past 3 days. Doesn't matter if I log out then log back in to Pinterest. Doesn't matter which computer I'm on. Zazzle techs: have you blocked Pinterest sharing temporarily?
