Products that utilized Sugar Plums bonus being deleted without warning!

Yes - this has been figured out down in the thread of  a different post but I feel it needs serious highlighting on it's own.... I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be affected by this.

Nearly all (and I expect the one missed will disappear soon) of my products that used symbols from the font Sugar Plums bonus have been summarily deleted.. no prior notice, no notification afterwards. Just simply gone. Is this a glitch or permanent?

What burns me is that I asked about this 2 weeks ago and never received an answer from Zazzle  (    https://community.zazzle.com/t5/technical-issues/question-about-discontinued-fonts/m-p/32699#M3161  ) - and also never expected that the products would simply be disappeared - did you think it would go completely unnoticed?... That was 2 weeks that I could have been finding and modifying those products to not use the font in question, but instead I find that a whole category in my store has simply been wiped clean. Not cool.

Now I am very concerned over the other products in my store that use discontinued fonts. Please at very least acknowledge this - it's highly discomforting to be kept in the dark.

This is absolutely no way to treat us designers! This needs to be addressed & fixed. And we need to be given the opportunity to fix our deleted designs!!!

Looks like I lost some calendars, as well, that used the Sugar Plum dingbats. I have no idea how many since there is no trace of those products ever existing! I'm hoping Zazzle will return them.

I have had things get deleted and they only had a few sales so I didn't do much about it. Now every one of a thousand dollar seller has been deleted with no warning. I am fit to be tied. I am going to find a lawyer and see if there is anything I can do about this happening to products with no warning. Seems like Zazzle has done this with no regard for all the advertising and work we have done for the company. Did notice they have a television ad to get more people to make stuff. One of a kind things that they don't have to be responsible for.  They could have given us a warning about using stupid scripts. I will not be trusting any of the new additions to the font area. Be afraid !!!!!!  Does anyone know if that new font can just cause our work to be deleted or is there a fail safe for them?  It really doesn't matter because if they do discontinue it good selling products will not count anymore.

If I have a way of knowing which of my products have been discontinued, I will spend time searching my Pinterest to delete those pins. If I am not informed by Zazzle of which products are gone I have no way to go to Pinterest and do this searching. Imagine how a customer will feel after clicking Pin after Pin and finding a link to a Zazzle 404 page. They will think Zazzle is some kind of a ghost company, with no actual presence in the world.....

Can someone from Zazzle PLEASE respond to this thread? Even a "we'll look into it" would be the minimum decent response. The silence just shows a major disrespect for us designers. This is unacceptable.

😮! Same here, what the wha?! Please restore them as discontinued so we can at least transfer these designs @Emma 🙂

Laura

to add, I was happy to find a design in my saved designs to transfer everything but the Sugar Plum bonus and I received the message "Oops! We can't seem to find the product you're looking for." Grr! 😕

Woke up this (UK) morning, hoping that this would have been resolved eg. a response from zazzle or my products restored/fixed, but instead another 32 items missing/removed/awaiting font change (I made a note of how many products were showing yesterday)

Previous post

I am still hoping that the system is just in the long process of 'swapping' over to the new font, but it would be great to know this for sure.

The reason I convinced myself that the products are just being swapped over to the 'new' font is because I came across one blanket with the 'old' symbol font swirl shape that is showing as still available and when I went in to the designer, it shows the Sugar Plums Bonus on the right.

Trying not to worry about all my work disappearing and sending out positive vibes to all of you that have also been affected by this.

WOW!  thanks for sharing the image. I just took a look at a bunch of notebooks where I used that and they are ALL gone. I know the rose was another I used. Yes, at least one of my Mother's Day cards on Pinterest had the rose and it's not gone from the website.

Well, dang. Glad I actually looked at this thread. My best selling invite is just gone. Poof. It's the only one I can think of/remember using the dingbats on, and fine if those had to go, but now I've lost the links, the sales stats, etc because it just got deleted instead of changed. Ugh.

I have one additional product that vanished since yesterday. (Posted in the other thread).

No clue what it is, no notice.

This is quite alarming as who knows if one day it will be a top seller or entire group of top sellers or what font might be next. Removing products without notice for a font swap is also removing historical sales data, the opportunity to use that data to create similar/adjusted products, work is entirely lost, when all that would be needed is a notice of some kind so that we could fix them within a certain time frame. A flag like "optimization needed - expired fonts" would be pretty cool.

The Blooming Elegant process was initially nerve-wracking, but this is scarier - unless the products will be reinstated shortly with a new font or those special characters removed from the design?

Really glad I read this thread, especially the bit about checking the news.

But I still don't understand why the Sugar Plums symbols had to go. I haven't been able to find anything about that...  anyone who can explain?

Would you like to swap links?

What I care most about at the moment is the manner in which it happened. No warning, no opportunity to make changes, totally ignoring me when I specifically asked about it beforehand and then no notice that it happened. I could have fixed this... As far as I can recall, in all of the products removed the symbols were not used in customizable fields. It would have been some work, but I certainly could have either gone into my own font library (of fonts that I am licensed to use commercially) and found some replacements that I could pull in or just created my own swoops and arrows...

As it is now, I may never even know just what I lost or what is still at risk... I just cannot remember every font I've used and exactly which products they are on! I know about some of them because when an entire category in my store disappears, it becomes pretty obvious and another was a decent seller in my smallest store, but otherwise...   For some people, I gather it's even worse -  they do not have access to the replace tool yet, so they cannot even rescue designs... Sure, you can edit and repost, but then you are starting from zero again, which is just so frustrating when it can take so much time and effort to get designs seen and sold in the first place.

Hundreds of my designs are gone... and I am now scrambling to remake some custom designs for clients that need to order ASAP to get their products before their deadline.

One of my emails from a client: I literally had everything sitting in my cart the day before it disappeared, but wanted to look over it once before I ordered it, and then it disappeared. Now we just have 2 weeks before the wedding and none of our paper stuff ordered.

Please someone at @Zazzle help fix this! @Scott

Another client: Good evening,

I was using your invitation template  “Rustic mountain wedding trifold” and it no longer is allowing me to “access product” on my saved designs there. I was wondering if you still had this design available as my heart was set on it.

I know I am losing many sales. Along with the fact that to recreate my illustrated tri-folds (a lot of my best sellers) would be hours and hours of work.

😓Wow! That is the worst possible scenario. Like many designers, I lost products. But at least they weren't in the middle of being used by a customer when they disappeared. This is going to be bad publicity for Zazzle since it affects customers. With a couple days advance notice and flagging of products, designers could have resolved this and the customers might not even have noticed.

KeeganCreations

Two more clients with issues... le sigh... my illustrated tri-folds took hours to create... to have to re-create them all just makes me want to cry.

Client One: Hi! I recently ordered some invites from you after personalizing them and now when I click on it... they are gone! Do you know how to contact Zazzle to try to get my creations back?

Client Two: I’ve ordered all our save the dates through you for a wedding next September, and I’m so happy with your gorgeous art! I planned to use the tri-fold wedding invitation of the same design, but it’s no longer available 😞  Will you be re-adding the tri-fold wedding invitation? 🤞

Still being affected by this (I am losing so much money from this issue). Almost a client a week. Today's email: Hello,

I worked for several months on an invite from your design and was ready to go print a ton and it's deleted!

Is there any chance you can help me get it back, or maybe we can work something out to re-create it?

I am sad to lose so many hours of work and any options would be amazing!

I checked out the news ref the other font zazzlers are missing too. Oh dear 😞

Caprice

I lost about 30 products, too.  I would have been happy to redo them with a different font if I had known...

How can we figure out which products have gone missing?  🤔

ClareS
Contributor II

I couldn't figure out why I'd lost 187 products from my store since last week until another designer pointed me here. I know I used dingbats from sugar plums so it looks like I've been affected too. This is so disheartening. Two of my top 25 earning products of all time have been deleted, among others. It's not just our lost income Zazzle it's yours too. Why on earth would you not give us the opportunity to fix the designs instead of just deleting them with no warning at all?

ClareS
Contributor II

For those of you who want to know which products have been deleted.

1. Go to your earnings by product report https://www.zazzle.com/my/earnings/royaltyproducts

2. Set the view to 100

3. Press Ctrl F to open the search box and search for the word deleted. If you have any they will say [product deleted] under the link.

4. You can then right click the link and copy it. Go to Google and paste it into the search box. Then remove the words www.zazzle.com so all you are left with is the number string - search and you should see your product so you will know what it was.

Marcia

Thank you, Clare! But that sounds like that's for a pc? Do you have any idea what accessing the search box would be on a mac?

Thanks Lora! Sorry Marcia - I'm on a Mac but I still call that button CTRL from my old PC days (10+ years ago) lol

I'm getting an error page when I delete zazzle's address and just leave the number.  I'd sure like to see the products so I can re-create them.

Try to just use the product number without the dashes. That worked for me

Marcia
Valued Contributor III

@LoraSeverson not working for me – I'm also getting the error page. Oh well.

ClareS
Contributor II

You have to search on google - not zazzle - as the product doesn't exist in zazzle any more.

CarlaRolfe
Valued Contributor

I did that, and also tried a different browser with just the product number, with no success.  What did work however, for at least some products, is google searching by the actual product name.  Since some bestsellers were still on my Pinterest, I had some success that way.  Geesh though, what a mess this is.

Caprice
Valued Contributor

...but doesn't this only tell us which products were deleted that have sold?  Unsold products?

You are right - only the sold ones - but when you have an inventory of thousands of products only the sold ones are worth worrying about.

Not for me.  *pouts*

Not for me either 🙂
