Royalty calculator in product details window shows wrong "royalty made" number

The "royalty made" number in the product detail calculator is wrong. It differs from the number shown in the advanced calculator. Some math tests with different % indicated that the advanced calculator number is the correct one.

@Fiorenzo Perhaps the Royalty Information is pulling information from the current sell price (inc sales discount) whereas the advanced calculator could be pulling the original price?

But can confirm - am seeing discrepancies in both royalty calculations too

Nope, it's clearly an issue with the price calculation on the main page. Double-checked. And don't remember similar issues before, I would've noticed and reported earlier. The advanced one calculates correctly. e.g. if you get 5$ at 95$ price and you rise the price by 5 to 100$ you should get 10. The advanced one sums it up correctly, the base one not.

It is 20th when royalties change over. Perhaps a bug appeared with the addition of new digital download percentages? It has a lot of calculations to do 🤣

Am sure it'll get fixed

I had indeed a nightmare the past 3 days trying to adjust royalty rates before the 20th. It was a hit or miss, and today it was a pure mess. sometimes it worked at first try, other times after 2-3 tries, other times after I restarted the browser. I finally ended up with half the work done and half that didn't work out. Something must be bugged. And the numbers shouldn't be different on standard and advanced calculator. We'll see.

@Fiorenzo

@Scott  and mods, could we get an answer quickly as to whether this is a glitch, and also if so when it will be fixed?

Fiorenzo , You are right, I just now created a product and compared base royalty percentage against advanced, the advanced is correct, the base which is much lower, is not. Also there is a big difference in the two for the same product/same percentage. There doesn't seem to be a way to override the base which is lower. I tried, the only thing that worked was to raise the percentage to get the correct advanced amount.

Attention Forum Moderators

Fiorenzo, I just checked my most recent product, from yesterday, and you are right. The figures don’t match. I double checked my calculations just to make sure before I posted. Your screenshot reflects what I also found to be incorrect for mine, something is way off with royalty and advanced royalty.
.  @Moderators please explain why the difference, or fix it.

In the above, the $10.07 is what you would earn on a Third-Party Referral sale, after the 20% "carve out'.

99.95 x 12.6% = 12.59

12.59 x 20% = 2.52

12.59 - 2.52 = $10.07

This is why i made my own Earnings Calculator, which you can find here.
While you can always trust that you are being paid correctly according to formula and the rate you set on your Earnings reports, I've learned that you can't trust either royalty calculator because it's never clear what deductions/fees it may or may not be including.

Zazzle's furry Joker on the rescue - as so often 😉

Thanks for the enlightening, now it makes sense. What makes no sense is to have them calculated differently, which inevitably leads to confusion. I suppose it's not intended cuz I can't remember having had this issue before. Yes, I have no doubts that the earnings are calculated correctly, even if you need a master's in Zazzology to solve the riddles. Thanks again! I don't promote you, cuz IMO it needs to be adjusted to one method. So long!

I forgot: thanks for the calculator! Just checked. Well done, now, to make it perfect, you need to add the 5% "user options" trick to the spreadsheet. I know, I'm cruel 😂

Edit: nevermind, I missed to read the fine print 😉

I actually started on just that two weeks ago when I was in a left-brain mode and craving such a challenge but I ran into a snag. I need some more data to work it out that I don't have in my own earnings history so think I need some "samples" from other designers which I'll ask for outside of the tech forum.
