Search algorithm Issues for "Trending Christmas Designs" - repetitive and irrelevant results

I wanted to share the results of a Christmas search I made this morning: "trending Christmas designs"... This behavior doesn't seem by design - is there an error in the algorithm? The non-holiday t-shirt is repeated 9 times on the first page, the same cropped label is repeated 10 times, and there's also a UFO T-shirt.

My screenshots show an excerpt of these issues. To repro, search for "trending Christmas designs" while either logged in or logged out. I'm not able to clear cookies on this browser, so my results might differ from what others see, but these results are way below par. Ironically, the browser Title Bar says "Best Trending Christmas Designs."

The issues are likely exascerbated by the product tagging, but I would think the algorithms would do a better job of weeding out non-relevant tags and showing product and design diversity. I do plan to look closer at the tags and see if any tag follow-up is needed, but we the designers can't be the only stewards of relevant searches. This is disappointing in the midst of the holiday season. Thanks for your attention!

It is entirely the tags. The algorithm does make some tags null; "gifts" and "personalized" are two examples I know off the top of my head. But apparently "trending" is not a null tag.
