Cyber Week banner is not clickable, has no "details"

CleanShot 2023-11-29 at 01.21.19.png

The "cyber week" banner appears at the top of my store, with the word "Details" and an arrow. It looks like it should be clickable to get more details on the sale, but it's not. There is no HTML markup to make it clickable, so it's not a JavaScript error. Did someone forget a link? The asterisk doesn't refer to any footnote on the page. Can we get this fixed quickly so "cyber week" makes sense and our customers can tell what's going on?

Hi @dddaaannn,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue here. It is working as expected on my side. The arrow is working and leads to here. I'm sorry if there was an issue here but it appears to be fixed from what I can see.

Thanks,

Pádraig

Hmm, no part of the Cyber Week banner is clickable for me. I'm testing in Private/Incognito windows of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Arc for macOS, and Chrome for iOS. When I inspect in DevTools, I see no HTML markup in the rendered view that would make it clickable. JavaScript is enabled, and I'm not seeing JS errors in the Console. I do not have any ad blockers installed. It looks like this is rendered by JS: I see "/black+friday+cyber+monday" and the HTML for the banner in a blob of JSON data. But the link isn't anywhere on the page according to the DevTools inspector.

Is there anything else I can do to help narrow this down?

Same. Using Firefox on Win10 here and no part of the banner is clickable on any page it appears on and like you, I see no "under the hood" sign that it's supposed to be.

Can you try it in an incognito window?

Same thing using Opera while "incognito".
My cursor changes to a hand when over a link. No changes when over the banner except for if I go right over the text on it and then it changes to the bracket-like cursor that signifies text you can copy & paste. I tried to go as precisely over the little arrow as I could in case I was missing the target area but still nothing. (I did try clicking even though my cursor isn't changing to signify a link but still nothing.)

Same thing using Chrome or Edge on Windows. The banner is not clickable.

Ok, I see it. We'll take a look.

So that everyone is aware, the top banner is far from the only place where our promotions can be found. Our home page has some rather large call-outs, and we also display the best promo code on the product page itself. We even go one step further and automatically apply the best promo code for the user. This means that a user can just go to the product page, customize, add to cart, and checkout. However, this current issue does mean that some users cannot have an easy route to finding the details of exactly what products are on sale. I'll provide an update when I have one.

Excellent, confirmed fixed! Thanks Scott!

I mostly noticed it because I'm launching my first store today and was just testing everything I could find. 🙂

Cheers!

I have a lot things became unclickable the last few day on some of the websites I frequent. I find it strange that some people have the same problem. I did find out that my problem was caused by pi-hole that we use to block all kinds of ads, and it probably had a recent update or something that was making many things unclickable.
