Hi,
I have exported text from Adobe Illustrator as an SVG file. When I open the file on my computer using my photos program, it shows up just fine. However, when I import it into Zazzle, the image looks blank as if there is nothing there as you can see in the screenshots below. Anyone understand why this is happening?
Regards,
Dawn

I had that problem previously. If I remember correctly, I think I had to make sure I did "outline fonts" in illustrator first, and then save as an SVG.

Try Save As SVG instead of Export As SVG in Illustrator.

Just tried the "outline fonts", and it is still not working. The funny thing is that when I upload it, for one second you see the text on the upload screen and then it disappears. Very frustrating.

Just got it to work based on the second tutorial I tried which told me to go to Type>Create Outlines. Finally! Thank you so much Marcia!

@albamarie glad that worked for you! I was going crazy & then mentioned it to my husband (who's a lot more adept at illustrator than I am). That was the 1st thing he mentioned! lol

Thanks so much @Marcia ! You are fortunate that your husband is so proficient at Illustrator. I was going crazy trying to figure it out. Very grateful.

Yes, you have to outline any fonts (always good practice for illustrator anyway, because if you send an unflattened (AI. EPS, PDF etc) file, for example to a print shop to or produce a product for you, or if you are sending a logo file to a client, not everyone will have the same fonts on their system and it will ruin your design if they dont),
Also remember for SVG the color limit in the image is 5 so if you want to be able to edit the colors in Zazzle, your image cannot have more than 5 different colors.
You can use SVG's with more colors of course, but you will not be able to edit any of the colors in Zazzle.

Thanks JB. I am only creating these svg files for Zazzle not for direct clients, but I am creating outlines because that is the only way that the files upload properly.

I'm having the same problem, but I'm using Canva to download a simple shape as svg in order to create masks on Zazzle. Do you know what might be happening in my case?

Hi Deny, I had the same problem with Canva, but now it seems to be working for me. Are you trying to maybe use one of their premium graphics or fonts? They will not let you download those as SVGs since they are scalable vectors.

Hi Albamarie,
Thanks for replying. No I've created a heart in png and uploaded to canva then downloaded as a svg. On finder, I can see the file normally, but when I upload to zazzle to create a mask, it appears to be blank.
