Tagging Products on Pinterest occurs "invalid parameters" error on Pinterest

Since a few days the error message "invalid parameters" appears when I try to call up a product via the "Tag Products - Add products" field. So far this has always worked. Now the URL no longer seems to be recognised. This means that the product no longer appears in the appropriate place on Pinterest. The link of the pin itself works. Please help to solve the problem.

@sachers   I have long stopped using Zazzle’s sharing tool because half of it doesn’t work anymore. I have created my self a template to post on Social Media. If you know how to copy source code just swipe it off my site at https://sanfrancisco.zone/resources/ (you will find it under Character Counter after Mark Highton Ridley‚s Zazzle tool. Using my template makes posting on Social Media quick and painless. All you would have to do is pasting it into a html file on your computer and replace my social media addresses with yours. If there would be interest I can create a template file for you to simply download and just use locally on your machine. Just let me know and I will create one tonight. Using my template speeds things up a bit for me - posting on social media is already boring enough, lol.

Hey @sachers,

Sorry to hear about this issue. Would you be able to share a link to the product and pin as well as a screenshot of the error?

Thank you!

I'm having this issue as well. I just started using this feature on Pinterest this week. For me, some items' links give the "invalid parameters" message and other items work fine. This is not an issue with the Zazzle share feature. This happens when I make my own pins, upload them to Pinterest, and then try to add a link to tag an item. This is not the pin link.

This is a screenshot of a pin I made yesterday. As you can see 3 items tagged the last one gave the "invalid parameters" message. The pins I made today had significantly worse luck. Far fewer items were successfully tagged.

I don't know if this is a Pinterest or a Zazzle issue. Screenshot 2024-08-22 at 1.05.18 PM.png

Hey @HeatherB,

Our team have asked for more information on the steps taken to recreate this issue. If you could please provide a step by step for this method, we can investigate further.

Sure, I can tell you how I arrived at this issue.

1. Select creat organic pin on the Pinterest site.

2. Upload pin, enter all the relevant information and tags

3. Select the Tag Product button.

4. In the window that opens on the right choose “Use a Link”. Open the Zazzle product page I wish to tag in a separate tab. Click the share button. Select copy link. Copy the top option of provided link options. (Same issue happens if I try to copy the address from the browser window.)

5. Return to the Pinterest page and paste the link into the window. Hit enter.

6. Invalid parameter message appears.

When I answered this post the other day about half of my products would tag. It has gotten progressively worse. As of yesterday none of the links worked. I was making pins for old products created last fall and recent ones created in last couple of months.

Thanks!

FYI, this is what I did. I’m not the original poster. They may have a different process.

Hey @HeatherB,

Thank you for sending on your steps here. I passed the info onto the team and will update you as soon as possible.

Hello! I am having the same issue on my pin as above ^ what's the solution?

Good morning. Have you found the reason and a solution? I also ran into this situation just yesterday afternoon, until then for three months it had always worked. Whether it is a temporary block in case of too much use of the function?

I have never received a response on this matter.  I continue to experience it periodically. I can’t seem to find a rhyme or reason.

Hi and thanks for the quick reply. So, in your experience, is this something that comes and goes? Maybe it could be related to what is mentioned in this thread (and the one linked in the first response) that just happened yesterday.

Honestly, I don’t know. My issue is going back a few months and only happens when I try to tag a product in a pin I’m creating on Pinterest. Not when I’m using the share button within Zazzle. If they’re related it’s a technical issue that is far beyond my expertise. 🤣 I haven’t pinned anything since early February. I needed a break after the holiday frenzy.
