Unable to Edit Share Link from Customer

I'm trying to help a customer tweak a design. She sent me a share link, and I'm able to see her customized version of the template, but whenever I try to edit anything - either through the design tool or even just on the product page through the template fields, the entire screen goes blank. Is there something wrong with the link she sent? She's in Canada so the link has a .ca extension - I even tried changing it to .com, but same problem. Help.

UPDATE: I gave up and just copied the customer's data into the original template and edited it from there. I still would like to know if this sounds like it was just a fluke, or if we did something wrong, or if there's an issue working across domains or something. If possible, I'd like to avoid this problem in the future. I've just never seen that before where I can see the customer's version but not edit it. Thanks!
