Uploaded Images do not appear at the "top" of "My Images" image list

This has been happening for awhile, but thought I'd finally bring it up.

The problem: I am swapping out images in various designs to account for skin tones or hair colors.  Once the first product is created, I go back into it to create the next one.  I upload the needed image or images for the next design.  After uploading them, I usually delete them from the design space.  I select the image I want to change and use the swap image option.  My image folder window opens and I don't see the images I just uploaded... or I see a few, but not all of them.  I am finding that the images that are missing from the top usually appear on the second to last page of images.  But not always. It is very frustrating. 

Note too, that this sometimes happens when I only upload one image.  I create one product and post for sale.  I open another product and go to my images to use the same image I just uploaded and it is not at the top on my images in the design tool.  I can either upload it again or go find it.

As a solution, I have been pondering just deleting all of my uploaded images after every design.  The search does not work anyway...  I figure I can get the amount of images I need to keep under one page.  But what a waste of bandwidth...

Has anyone found a different work around?

I'm sorry that I can't provide a product link.  It isn't really a product creation problem, but a problem with where an uploaded images home in my image folder is created.  Ideally it would be right at the top of the images displayed in my images folder.  It used to be that way.

I was hoping for some sort of reply to this post.  I had several instances today where uploaded images appeared on the last page and second to last pages of my images folder.  It is irritating to have to go find the image to be able to swap it out.  They should go to the top of the list.  That DID happen a few times today as well.  It is hit or miss where my images show up.  Is this being looked into?

Hi @PacifierCity,

I'm sorry to hear you're having issues here. I can't replicate the issue on my end however. Images are appearing in correct order on my side. Do you have any filters applied applied to your images page? For example, the sort by function should be set to newly uploaded. Can you provide an image of the error so we can get a better understanding of what you're seeing?

@Pádraig Thanks for the response.  For the longest time I rarely saw this happen.  Over the last few months it seems to be happening more often.  At one point a few months back I actually deleted 90% of the images in the "My FiIes" link inside the design tool.  I now have a few hundred in there again.  A picture won't really show what happens.  I would have to do a video and since it does not happen every single time, it could be challenging to make said video.

So I will explain again:

Open product that I wish to swap out some images on. > Click my files > click Upload images > select 2 - 5 images > They upload and appear on the product > I delete them > I then select the image I want to replace > I click change image > My Files opens in a new window.....

At this point any number of things could appear.  The 2 - 5 images could all be in the first slots.  There could be a few of the images I just uploaded in the first few spots, but not all of them.  Or none of them appear in the first few spots.  The images that do not appear in the first few spots usually end up on the second to last page of my files folder.  They are almost never right next to each other.  Sometimes one will also appear on the last page or third to last page....

but once I find the image, I click on it and it gets replaced in the design.

Fortunately one does not have to scroll to the bottom of a page to be able to navigate to another page, but it is annoying when I have a design where I want to swap 10+ items and the freshly uploaded image is on the second to last page.  In situations where I can select all the images I want to replace, it's not a big deal... but when I have to replace images on different sides or folds, it becomes tedious.

As for testing... maybe upload a few images every half hour to hour and see if this happens.

I do recall reading this bug in the past.  I can;t seem to locate other posts in the new forum to support this memory.  Maybe a few other designers can chime in if they are seeing this behavior too.

Just now I uploaded a single image of a pink two tone starburst.  Before that I uploaded 5 girl karate characters.  You can see the 5 in a row at the top of My Files images but the two tone pink starburst is not there.  Go take a look... it is on the third to last page...

FYI - I still continue to have issues with this.  I have reached the point where I have deleted almost every image form my image library in an effort to be able to easily find images I just uploaded. 

I am surprised that I seem to be the only person having this issue...  any ideas as to why this is happening to me would be appreciated.

@PacifierCity Have you tried creating an album starting with a number - i.e 00PCSkin, 01PCHair and copying your images to them? They would then appear at the top of My Albums for easier access.
