Changes to (Universal) Google Analytics

Universal Google Analytics will shortly be changing over to Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
I have changed my Zazzle shop G Analytics over to GA4, however I have a question about what to do on the Zazzle site.

I have put G Analytics Tacking ID in the Advanced Settings when I set the store up, but I don't know if I have to change this in any way. Does anyone know? TIA.

1. Get the GA4 number (that the GA4 property creates for you to use
2. replace your UA number (in  your zazzle '
Google Analytics Tracking ID (UA-XXXXXXX-X' box)
-itโ€™s  under store settings - advanced settings - tracking & analytics
3. press submit and make sure to save your changes.
If you have already done this in your zazzle shop settings, then you are set.

Update on my initial post:
I have transferred from Google Analytics Universal to GA4 following my post in December. I put the new code in the Zazzle back end - see screenshot.
GA tells me that the property is connected but I have no traffic recording (not receiving hits). I'm also not getting nay hits from GA- Universal ether.

Can anyone shed any light on this.
And perhaps one of the Mods can tell us if/when they look at GA4 that they do a step by step process on how to complete the transition. Thanks.Google Analytics.png

With the introduction of the View Insights panel, I am wondering if this is in lieu of making Zazzle compatible with GA4. Maybe the team has decided not to pursue integration with GA4.

I must admit @Windy I wondered that myself. So I'm going to go with it and see what happens. Thanks for confirming my thoughts ๐Ÿ™

Moderator Mark says in this thread that there is work Zazzle will be doing in order to make this work and that we will hear more in the new year.

Thanks folks for this. I did search before I posted but obviously not on the correct keywords ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I never know the right keywords! I just remembered reading that even if we can do it right, there is some kind of a piece missing that will need Zazzle's attention. I am guessing after the Christmas season we'll hear some news about it.

I'm trying to get my NEW GA4 code to enter for my store. I've read other threads and have TWO questions pls.

1) I'm missing the part on how to change "my Zazzle shop G Analytics over to GA4" -- how to do this?

I'm logged in GA and I see:

Accounts > Properties (and here I see my old UA code that matches what I have in Zaz)

Where do I click to say "change/update to GA4"?

- Do I have to create a new property? Will old data migrate over or we lose all old data?

2) When I have my "Measuremement ID" do I enter it with G-number or enter only the number as in the screenshot above? Do we include the letter G with the dash?

thank you

@tracytrends

1. In google Analytics - find the Cog - account settings - setup assistant - if you haven't already updated to GA4 - this is where you do it There should be a GA4 Setup assistant - follow the prompts Get Started.

I'm not sure about all the old data - you may lose it or it may transfer when they switch off providing you set up your new GA4 correctly (don't really know)

2. You need to put the measurement ID number (with the G number) into the Settings  ->  Advanced Settings on your store  (where the old G number was) and include the dash

Thank you for helping me. I made progress and will wait to see if data comes thru.

For the "Data Stream URL" -> the area where we click to get our "Measurement ID" and we can click to EDIT this area (URL and nickname) .... should I be using www.Zazzle.com/storename  or just Zazzle.com/storename ?

Do we include the www to ensure best data collection of different types of URLs that might lead to the same place? Or is leaving www OFF, the best way to catch all URLs?

*thank you again

@tracytrends I use  https://www.zazzle.com/store/thenstorenamehere  and it collects data ok (ie. from all the international sites I think but don't quote me on that)

Stream Name - call it what you want

It does take time for data to start streaming

Sara - thank you for sharing tips in all the GA4 threads, your time spent is appreciated.

I have data flowing.
For setup, were you able to complete all 7 steps?
I have a red banner on the top saying that I've only completed part of the setup and can see it says 0 of 7 completed. (I actually thought I had 1/7 hmm...)
But since we're using Zazzle, how many of the steps is it possible to complete?
*ANYONE can answer if they know, it doesn't have to be Sara  ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you for all the help!

@tracytrends Don't mind me answering I hope. I set my to all 'completed' - if you press the arrow next to the 'not started' there's an option for completed (or something - I already pressed mine).
I just set them all as that as I have no need for them, and as if by magic - the red banner went away.
