Deleting saved designs?

I saw that there was another post on this, but it's from back in March, and unclear if the issue was ever resolved.

I have no idea how to the delete designs that end up in my "saved" folder after revising and resubmitting an old product. At this point, I have 2K saved designs that are just...there. The revised versions of the products are live, so they're not still under review, they're just stuck.

I can "select all" and delete, but they don't go anywhere. If I refresh the page, the same designs come back again. Sometimes the number of saved designs will decrease, but if I leave and come back to the page later, the number has jumped back up again.

I'd really like to bulk delete all of these. As it stands, I get the "would you like to continue this design?" popup every time I click on anything I've ever revised. It also makes it impossible to use the saved folder to save designs that I actually do want to work on later, because I can't even find them.

Any tips/suggestions would be much appreciated!

@rebeccaheartsny you can't delete replaced designs so the only tip I can give is to just live with them.

It does more of less make the Saved Designs area useless for anything else (ie actual saved designs) and it would be wonderful if there was a search option but there isn't and we have to live with the monster we made (imho)

I can't see it being fixed anytime soon as not all designers have the option to replace designs as it is

Oh, interesting. I honestly thought it was a bug or a browser issue, or that I was being totally dense and somehow not deleting properly. I didn't realize it was a permanent thing.

If that's the case, then yes, a search function would be great, because with 100 pages of saved designs, it's impossible to find anything. Or perhaps another tab -- in addition to "revise and resubmit" and "under review" maybe there could be one for "revised products?" At the very least, it would be great to have a checkbox somewhere to turn off the "do you want to continue working?" popup.

I have saved designs that are over a year old now, that I used the replace product tool on and they will not delete. It says that the designs will be saved for 6 months, but I have no idea what happens after 6 months. Nothing has been deleted after 6 months and at this point, I don't even try to delete the old saved designs anymore.

I go into the saved designs, at the end of the day and delete the ones, I was working on that day, if I no longer need them. Otherwise, I would have more pages and pages of saved designs and no idea which ones I could delete.

It would nice if we had the ability to have folders, like we do with the saved images, so we could designate where we want the saved designs to actually be saved. Maybe, I will add that to the Ideas & Suggestions Board. 🙂

I'm wondering if being unable to delete all those old saved designs is a glitch that tech has been unable to fix. Since that is a problem for those of us who were able to replace products I also wonder if a possible glitch is why everyone hasn't been given the replace products option.

I did a lot of updates on card attribution and then pretty much stopped until the button key ring was discontinued and I started updating the metal key rings. So now I have pages of saved greeting cards, postcards and key rings that I can't delete.  I'm a bit OC about seeing all those pages of saved designs that have been updated. I too would love to see a fix.

I had the same idea, after I posted today. That could be one the reasons, why the replace product tool, has not been released to everyone yet. There are so many new changes going on right now, that I'm sure Zazzle is busy with those changes.

No, that was never fixed, unfortunately. I'm being VERY selective in what I change, now!

For me it's the opposite. I hadn't used this feature at all until a few weeks ago (hence why I've just discovered the glitch) but I'm finding that with the new collections update, having the option to revise old designs is more important than ever. I've unearthed old collections where every product in the suite uses a different font, or slightly different colors, and many products which have customizable text but aren't templates.

If I'm already spending hours meticulously going through each item in each collection one-by-one, it seems opportune to revise the actual products at the same time. Otherwise, creating cohesive collections isn't really possible without redoing everything. Not to mention that it's more likely someone will actually purchase multiple items from a collection (or that the collection will be featured somewhere) if everything matches, rather than using 10 different fonts.

"many products which have customizable text but aren't templates"

Unless this changes in the future, unfortunately at this time, if you had a text, but forgot to make it customizable text (make it a template object) you won't be able to use the replace product and (make it a template object) later.  Zazzle doesn't allow that and they will not approve the changes.

Here are some of the things you can and can not do, at this time.

Zazzle looks over all the products, before they approve or deny the changes. You wouldn't be able to change alot and it look like a new product, Zazzle will not approve those kind of changes.

You can not add text and make it a customizable text template (make it a template object)

You can not make the text, you already have on the product customizable (make it a template object)

You can change a "placeholder image", but not an actual design

You can change the year, change the size of text and an image, straighten images and text, fix text typos and change a color.

It's small changes like that, that Zazzle will probably approve. If a customer is in the process of buying your product, Zazzle will not approve any changes, but you can make the changes later and submit for approval again.

There is an issue at this time and any products you use the "replace product" on, will not delete from the saved designs. It doesn't matter how many times you try to delete the saved designs, they will not delete. I assume Zazzle is still working on a solution.

SUGGESTION: If these "replaced" designs MUST live as a saved design in our designer accounts, could they perhaps have a special folder (like those "under review" and "revise and resubmit" links towards the top?), so that we don't have to sort through them constantly?
I used to use the saved designs as sort of a "to do list" - knowing where I needed to finish an idea, or where to start something next time I sat down to work. But now it's overwhelming and frustrating to look through because of all the stuck "replace design" products.

How to delete the products that are in Saved Designs when despite selecting the delete option they remain undeleted again? This has been happening for months now.

You can't. I have 5k designs in my saved designs folder. They just live there now!

There is no way to delete the "replace product" saved designs. I have pages and pages and some are as far back as July 2022. It won't help to contact Zazzle either, until they find a solution, as to why the saved designs will not delete.

I don't even notice them anymore or even try to delete them. I just go to my saved designs everyday, after I have finished working and delete all the designs from that day. That way all the ones I can delete, will not be mixed in with the ones I cannot delete. I would hate to go back page by page and start deleting, just to finds the ones that will delete.
