Hi,
Is it safe to let customers download digital versions of the product? I am wondering how many have allowed it across Zazzle. Is it ok if I enable it after Jan 13th?

Hi DA, I opted out of digital downloads, so can’t answer that part of your questions. Zazzle is probably never going to release info on how many are opted in. That number will continue to fluctuate over time, since in theory a shop will be able to opt in or change their mind and opt out products.

Can I opt out of Instant Downloads? You have until January 12, 2023 to opt out of the one-time Digital Migration. To opt out of Instant Downloads, you can go to your Store's Advanced Settings (Store > Setting > Advanced Settings) and unchecking the box labeled "Migrate my eligible products to be sold as an Instant Download." After January 12, 2023 you will have the ability to manage which products you want to make available for Instant Downloads using the Products Tab of your Store Management Dashboard.

I don't do a lot of invites or other products that people might want to send digitally or wedding stuff (like seating charts) which may fall into the urgent need, must print locally category and I'm not even slightly interested in considering allowing anyone to download a "print", which is basically just the image. As far as I'm concerned if people want a physical product they can buy it here, so I've opted out.
I can understand that those who do a lot of invites might want a slice of the e-vite market though.

Once you put anything online it's no longer safe. Safe would be creating designs then never sharing any of them in public! We live in a different world today. Even if someone steals your work, there's no guaranty they're making more money off it than you are, or even any at all.

All shops will be part of the digital download unless they take action to opt out. I have taken action to opt out because I want to learn how this works once it goes into action. At that point, I am free to opt IN to digital download with regard to any of my products.
Surely it's not supposed to rhyme with brewski.

@DesignerArtist
Hi DA, This might help answer your question about enabling after the deadline. If you choose to remain opted out till after the 1/12 deadline, you then can opt in products individually. 🐌 👀
(which is helpful if you only have a few select products, but a large number, slow going.)
<https://community.zazzle.com/t5/creator-news/2023-digital-product-offering-final-call/ba-p/58329> From the announcement…”You. will have the opportunity to opt in products individually after the migration if you do choose to offer digital.”
I included the link so you can easily reread the announcement in context if you want to.
Good news is that you still have time to decide what to do! 🤔

Somewhere, I'm fairly sure I saw it said (by Scott?) that we could choose a group of products and do an opt in/out on the whole group rather than doing it individually. Where I saw this would probably be in one of the two threads currently running or in the instructions. I think it wasn't the latter.
EDIT: Here it is...
Can I opt into Instant Downloads at a per-product or category level? As Content Creators, it is 100% your decision if you would like to participate in Instant Downloads. We have provided the Digital Migration as a one-time conveinence for Creators who want to opt-in their entire store by bulk-migrating onto eligible products. To this end, you will still have the opportunity to opt-in at a per-product as well as a per-category level using the Products Tab in Store Management Dashboard even if you decide not to take advantage of the Digital Migration

I am waiting until this exits the test phase and is available on a per-product basis. I will then probably make some types of greeting cards available for download or even create specific card designs to send/share in digital ways, but I will pass on the posters/larger prints. The latter ones I will only sell digitally on request, on my own, where I have full "control" over the customer and the use of the artwork.

Thanks everybody.
I guess, it is too late to change now for the stores I have opted in. I hope, I can change it later. I don't see the option now - either in Advanced Settings or individual products.
