... did you receive a 1099 - Misc. AND your 1099 - NEC?
Each year since 2009 I have received both 1099's from Zazzle. This year Zazzle sent the 1099 - Misc. and not the 1099 - NEC.
I currently am at my wits end dealing with the Zazzle support. Both responses from them tell me I have to go through Paypal for the 1099 - NEC.
Is that everyone elses experience??

I just now checked at PayPal. They have absolutely nothing for me. The only 1099's they have are the 1099K, but they don't have that for me either.
The only choice we have is to report our actual total income rather than what Zazzle has stated on the 1099-MISC. In this way, we won't be under-reporting and will thus be safe.

Right, Paypal only sends 1099 - K & 1099 - INT's out. I have never, ever received either of those from Paypal.
From FreeTaxUSA : "1099-K forms are usually sent out from a payment-processing entity such as PayPal.
1099-NEC or 1099-MISC forms are sent out from people/companies who made payments to you. They're generally required to send you a 1099-NEC or 1099-MISC if they paid you at least $600. "
I'm just going to drop it. If I didn't make $600 in referrals I wouldn't be getting a 1099 - NEC.

I added up my referrals (less than $600), subtracted them from my total earnings, and it did NOT match my 1099. I've given up and will report my entire earnings. Or am I supposed to skip my referrals because they're under $600?

I received both a 1099-Misc. AND a 1099-NEC in early February 2025 from Zazzle for my 2024 Zazzle earnings.

I received my 1099 - Misc in February as well. But never received the NEC portion.
2 people from Zazzle's support have told me I had to go to Paypal to ask for a 1099 - Misc, and 1099 NEC. Both times I told them I'd never had to get these from Paypal before but both time's the support person insisted I needed to go to Paypal.
I'm not sure who is training support for tax questions, but they are not to effective at their jobs. 😐

Did you get a name of the support person you were dealing with? I wonder if Padraig would know how to advise. Clearly, the 1099-NEC comes from Zazzle as Connie and I have both confirmed getting ours from Zazzle. Sorry you are going through this frustration. 🙁

Yes, I have their names. And if a moderator wants those name so they can be educated how to correctly answer 1099 questions (instead of some canned answer that is incorrect) I'd be happy to give them their names in private.
Right now I'm pretty sure I didn't meet the $600 threshold from referral income to generate a 1099 - NEC. I hardly do much on Z these days so the figures are low now. But I'll be doing the math later today to check.
Oh btw, these people were responding to my emails from the www.zazzle.com/about/ask email addy. I don't think I trust those folks for the hard stuff any longer.

I got both too. I'm pretty sure the NEC is for referrals while the MISC is for royalties - did you make over $600 in referrals? I don't exactly know how it works, but I think that they don't issue 1099s for amounts under $600.
ETA - just read your comment above. I think it's likely that the amount is the reason.

Does the total of your MISC and your NEC add up to your total earnings? (I remember a few years ago when they sent NEC's to everyone, and then they had to reissue everything.) Tax time is the pits for everyone, including Zazzle, it appears.

Now there you go reminding me that I need to get off my duff and get started on my taxes! 😉
Yes, the total of both 1099s equals the total of all payments for 2024. So, if you didn't get the NEC I think you can safely just add up all of the payments from 2024 and it should be the right number.
So now that the folder is out of the file cabinet and sitting on my desk, I really, REALLY should start working on it!

This year is the first one when I didn't receive my forms from Zazzle but after asking they sent me both forms as password protected PDFs 👍 There was nothing in my PayPal account.
