Frustrated

I have trouble getting seen and getting sales. I made a bunch of 4th of July t-shirts a while back, all ready for July, yet today we get an email about 4th of July products, 17 pages of womens tees on the subject, and not one of mine amongst them. What am I doing wrong? Please, any advice appreciated. https://www.zazzle.com/collections/political_and_patriotic_wear-119997724458606915

Hello! At super quick glance, a few things that might help are making sure the designs are easy to see on the product search results feed.  But more importantly, you will want to do some updates to your titles and tags so they are more informative and can be found in the Zazzle search.  Zazzle has some tips and tricks on their site, and you can also find some additional resources online.  But think about how people search, for example. They may not search 'never surrender' in particular, but what other words might they look for that you can add.

You're welcome. If they aren't getting any views really yet, the titles/tags are the more important change over the image change. Also if you haven't tried pinterest, that might also help. But you will want to fix the titles/tags first since if you use the pinning tool, it will pull that information over to pinterest as is.

Looked at your Collection. Most of your shirts are very political & pro one party.  I don't think Zazzle or any other company would feature such designs that would lead to customers thinking they as a business lean this way or that. People are very quick these days to personally or publicly boycott businesses they think are on the other side as them. I am not familiar with the email or 17 pages of shirts you speak of, but I just searched for [4th of july t-shirts] and nothing on the first couple pages I scrolled through was politically charged like this.

I'd say, split your designs into different Collections, one for purely Patriotic, and the other for your political designs which you could then target by keywords to the proper audience. And as @jophb said, your tags could use some work.

Most responses you’ve received so far are focused on improving your titles and tags because without good SEO, nobody will find your products. However, since design is my strong suit, I’m going to talk about improving  your designs.

It’s obvious that most of your designs are created using AI technology. And without knowing and applying the basic principles of design, AI will only spit out what you tell it to generate.

Your designs are very busy and complex. It’s difficult to see the designs in your thumbnails. Take a look at the top-selling designs in similar niches. Simple sells, so keep your designs simple. Remember the design rule of three when you choose colors, layout, supporting elements, and text. If you’re not familiar with this design principle, look it up online to get a more detailed explanation and see examples of before and after images.

Another good design principle to follow is the art of restraint. Adding more elements, special effects, and colors doesn’t improve a design - it distracts from it. So strip your designs down to the basic elements needed to support your design concept and message.

Famous clothing designer, Coco Channel, used to tell folks to get dressed, accessorize your outfit, and then remove three things. The same principle applies to any type of design. More does not equal more. So take a look at your designs and remove any unnecessary and distracting elements, colors, special effects, and anything that’s not necessary. Keep in mind that a special effect is not special when it has been applied to every element of a design.

Also, when you use AI technology to generate your designs, you need to follow Zazzle’s AI content use policy and add a tag that tells customers you used AI technology to create your designs. A simple tag that says “generative content” or something similar will work. Look up Zazzle’s guidance and rules of using AI designs.

Thank you so much for your help and advice. It seems I have a lot to look into and change 🙂 I'll be very busy!
