How to make signature clickable on post?

Malissa

I see some forum users have clickable links in their signatures, but mine just shows the text I was trying out. Do I need to format it with HTML?  If so will we have a help guide or something? Or do I just google how to format it? (I did google it in general, but I don't remember what this forum software is) Or am I missing something very basic 🤔?

Thanks in advance for any help

How do we go about having a permanent signature, instead of adding it manually? I see a signature box in My settings > Personal information. Do we add the html there?

Yes.  Add it in the settings.

Thanks! Can I ask what you put to get a line above your signature?

@AugieDoggyStoreSorry I just now saw this!  this

<font color="#ff2f87">..........................................................................</font><br />  is what I put directly before the signature html.  It already has the "enter" so your signature will appear beneath it.  You can change the periods to whatever you want like an underscore, an asterisks, dash, etc. Also you may want it a different color so you can put in a color name like blue or a different hex code.

Many thanks!

After reading and re-reading all the many posts about how to add a signature, I still cannot get it done.  I have followed as best I can the directions that appear in these posts.  It is not that your directions are bad but that you are explaining them to (in my case) needs to be a REMEDIAL html/coding classes.  I take the directions literally.  It I see quotation marks, I put them there.  Then I remove them when that does not work.  For me, I need  only what I am supposed ot actually write, all of it , but no more.  Help.

To add it manually to a post, click on the three dots in the toolbar when you're writing your post (next to the smiley and camera icons) to open up "expand toolbar."  Click on the html button and copy and paste <a href="http://www.zazzle.com">Your Text Here</a> into the box. Change the link and the words to what you want.

To have it automatically added, go to My settings > Personal information and just add it to the signature box. That's the easiest.

Hope this helps!

AugieDoggy,   You can tell I am getting frustrated by the typos in my posting above!   I went to the 3 dots.  Expanded the tool box.  Clicked the html button.  At first nothing appeared to copy.  Then 3 or 4 lines of a few strange letters (all the same in each line) appeared on my second or third try.  So, I guess I am not sure what I am supposed to be copying and pasting and where.   Am I supposed to paste these words LITTERALLY:

<a href="http://www.zazzle.com">  ?     Then following your directions the rest of that line is followed by

Your Text Here</a      So pardon my complete ignorance here but what text am I supposed to put there?

Do I put just my store name (whatawonderfulworld) ?  Do I put Sharon@whatawonderfulworld?  Do I put something else?   And am I pasting it in the HTML box or the reply box here or in my personal info where it asks for my signature?   I am about to give up.   Thanks for all attempts from everyone.  I told you I need REMEDIAL help and I was not kidding.

Aww, I'm sorry I confused you. Forget about the dots and all that. Follow these steps:

1. Click on your picture at the top right of your screen

CaptureStepA.JPG

2. Click on My Settings

3. Click on Personal Information

4. Scroll down to Signature

5. Paste this in the box:

 <a href="http://www.Zazzle.com/store/whatawonderfulworld">whatawonderfulworld</a>

6. Click Save

AugieDoggy, you definitely deserve a kudo for patience.  I copied and pasted the line you said to in the post up above :

<a href="http://www.Zazzle.com/store/whatawonderfulworld">whatawonderfulworld</a>

into my Signature box  found in my settings.   It looks like we are getting somewhere but I do not know how to get rid of the extra parts in the copied and pasted line (the <a href  and so on) or how to add my first name to store name (that is not necessarily needed but I have seen some who have their name and the @ sign in front of their store name.  Boy, I could have designed several items in the time this has been taking.  Probably not worth all your time and mine but still, I  have already committed so much time to it, I hate to quit trying now.  Thank you again.  P.S. When posting this I saw afterwards that it appears my signature (sans my first name) is now how it should be.  Could not see it before I posted so came back and edited to type this latest info.  THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Yay, it worked! I'm going to explain further because you still seem a little bit unclear. All we are doing is turning some words into a clickable link.

This is the basic code:

<a href="http://www.zazzle.com">Your Text Here</a>

There are only two things to change here. The web address (www.zazzle.com) and what you want it to say (Your Text Here).

In your case, you want to change www.Zazzle.com to your store's web address. That would be changing www.Zazzle.com to www.Zazzle.com/store/whatawonderfulworld

Now you want to change the text that someone will click on. In your case, you want to change Your Text Here to whatawonderfulworld. OR ANYTHING YOU WANT IT TO SAY. If you want it to say Shar-Ken@whatawonderfulworld, just type it. If you want it to say Click Here to Go to My Awesome Site, 🤣 just type it.

I hope that makes it clear, or else I'm going to cry that I'm a bad teacher. 😄

PS I noticed when I look at these posts on my phone, it breaks up the code into several lines. If that's how you're accessing it and it looks confusing, you might want to switch to a pc if you can.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I think I DO get it now.  But  I am going to copy and paste your answer where I can get to it easily.   Don't cry--you have been a good and patient teacher.  As far as the codes breaking up (You are right.  It was confusing and meant nothing to me),  I actually use a iMac Pro and Chrome.  Have no idea what that means particularly!

~ Shar-Ken ~   whatawonderfulworld  &  KDSphotography

I have no idea either! lol Glad I could help!

I just noticed that the last line in my post to AugieDoggy above was put there automatically but it does not take you to MY site.  It appears to be the general Zazzle site but does say, "Welcome back, Sharon".  Obviously, this is not what I wish to have an active link to .    But the fact that SOMETHING is finally appearing must mean I am getting closer to nailing this ?    (just edited this to point out that the incorrect link is showing here as well)

~ Shar-Ken ~   whatawonderfulworld  &  KDSphotography

<a href="http://www.zazzle.com">Your Text Here</a>

This is what you have to copy and paste, but you have to change www.zazzle.com to YOUR SITE 🙂 So for me, I wanted my signature to be my website, so I wrote it like this:

<a href="http://www.AugieDoggy.com">AugieDoggy.com</a>

Is that clearer?

EDIT: I wrote out the steps in my reply above this.

Try this.

Copy the below exactly and paste it in your Sig box.

<font size="5" color="#ff00ff">~ Shar-Ken</font> <b>@</b> <a href="https://www.zazzle.com/store/whatawonderfulworld" target="_blank" title="click to visit my Zazzle store"><font size="4" color="blue">What A Wonderful World</font></a>

See if you like that. It should look like this, with the blue text a clickable link that goes to your store.

Thank you so much!   I really like how you enlarged the "Shar-Ken" and gave color to it.  I just copied it and it is now being used.  The only thing I did change (was not sure I would be able to)  was to make my store name as one word rather than four since that is how it has always been (found out by doing a google search that there were way too many other things going by the 4 word version and was not sure of copyright to the name, etc.).  But I appreciate your giving time to my problem.

Good job! Changing the text was easy, right? So now you should be comfortable changing the font sizes and colors to whatever you like, too. 🙂
