What does a message mean when it says items need to be Optimized ?

It means that product hasn't been viewed for 18 months and will be hidden in a day or two.

I've been finding 15 months is the cutoff for views after which they're hidden. I also thought it was more than that, but I guess not.

Thanks you for these answers, I will have to be more vigilant in my upkeep. I am still getting 'settled in' here and learning. I will review these notices. If I go to these products and 'update/edit' them, how do I keep them from becoming 'newly posted'. Is there a way to make changes without triggering a 'duplicate item'?
