Pinterest difficulties

I'm trying to post affiliate links to pinterest boards. When I first do it, the code seems to be working and I get credit for sales. Then after awhile the referral code gets changed and I noticed I have lots of views and click throughs on pinterest's end but someone else is getting credit for the referral code.

The way I've been pinning has been to be logged in and then click on the pinterest icon under the picture of designs that usually don't belong to me. Then I post it to the board of my choice.

What am I doing wrong?

There aren't any icons beneath the "other designs you might like." They exist only beneath your own product image, so I'm not sure how you're actually pinning your products.

To get a referral code you need to ensure you enter the actual product page for each individual product and pin from below the product image there as opposed to pinning from a page that displays numerous product images. If this makes sense?

That's what I'm doing. The referral code is there when I pin them but after a little while it gets replaced with what looks like zazzles account. I got one referral when I first posted so I know it's working at first but then they get replaced. Maybe someone from tech support knows what's going on?

This is the referral number it gets switched to:

I just looked. It's not happening to every pin but some of them.

Can you learn anything more about this by googling that exact code with no other characters in the search?

That's interesting. I get two hits on that search.

I must have typed in the wrong number the first time. Found it now. It looks like its someone else's number, yes?

I don't know. It might just be your product number.

nope that's not the problem. The problem is pinterest is stripping the codes.
